And Qatar is too easy for him. He will never be WC.
A shame, but remember: a lot of big champions have never been WC.

Is there anywhere to attack in Qatar?

hopefully he can add one more monument to his palmares next season or if we dare dream the rainbow jersey.
He's a family man for sure. But I reckon he'll be motivated for next year to show that he's still the king of the classics. Must be frustrating to have a season like this one when you're clearly still able to deliver.Red Rick said:About time, he hasn't been as motivated (or so it seemed) as he once was. Better stop after a decent year and do something else. He seems like someone who's got more in his life than just cycling
Just imagine Cancellara and Boonen arrive alone in Roubaix next year. That would be one of the most iconic moments of the last few years. Would be absolutely great.Mayomaniac said:I want to see one last big Cancellara vs. Boonen showdown in the cobbled classics in 2016 before they both ride into the sunset, their rivalry is really iconic.

The greatest and most complete rider of the century (in contention for greatest of all time) against the greatest cobble specialist of the said century = Greatest rivalry of the century.

That's not the same person. The greatest is Contador, and the most complete is Valverde. Which of two of them are you talking?![]()

Most complete classics rider. Greatest rider? 4 world titles, an Olympic gold and 7 monuments and 15 podium finishes (including wins) and 8 tour stages he has a shout.
Add to that a win in Tour de Suisse and Tirreno Adriatico. Even Piti was never as versatile as Cancellara in 2008-2011. Contador was never as complete as Cancellara, but he's arguably better at what he does best (stage racing) than Cancellara was as a classics rider - that point I'll give you.Mr.White said:Brullnux said:Mr.White said:Echoes said:2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2014.

4 World titles and Olympic Gold in what? Certainly not in RR! Jacques Anquetil would of won 10-15 that titles in his time. So would Coppi, Koblet, Merckx... Mick Rogers has 3 for Christ's sake!!! He has a shot for a greatest rider in this century, but he's not the one. That's Contador in my book!

The reason there wasn't a world time trial championship before 1994 is that there was already a major race that served that purpose. Anquetil won it 9 times to be exact

And Tour de Suisse, very important to give diversity to his palmares.
