Plenty of teams who have no one for GC ride in the grupetto every hard day, Giant, Orica, Cannondale to name 3. Now that Talanksy is out of GC Garmin wont be busting their guts every day so are not high on team GC.

Still ... quality Garmin riders looking totally outmatched in breakaways ... Slagter yesterday and Langeveld today.

My theory is that Garmin are behind others in their 'program' as JV is very careful. I expect them to be back up to 'speed' as soon as they sort their 'program' and get their internal testing rejigged for the new program.

even if there might be some clean(er) riders in the team, garmin's top results have not been achieved without juice.
hesjedal and talansky are ordinary dopers, and vaughters knows.

JV has signed a sponsor for the next ~4 years. The squad knew this.

Talansky was their hope, and they could have got him on the podium, but they were never gonna roll dice and be egregious. That is not the strategy they run. They do enough to compete and get by. And it is off-campus, diffuse, plausible deniability. an individual's own gumption

Finding ways to clean up the sport and to regain the public’s trust are a foremost concern for cycling’s governing body, Union Cycliste Internationale, as it makes reforms and investigates allegations of wrongdoing.

On Friday, Vande Velde was reluctant to talk about doping, fearing that the positive steps he and the sport have taken would be lost to lurid headlines.
“What I’m much more happy about is being able to be part of (organizations) where we brought in a great anti-doping campaign and changed the mentality within the peloton. … I’m very proud of that,” Vande Velde said. “I’m very proud to leave the sport much better than it was when I got in it.”

CVV talking bunk again. Will he ever confess truthfully?

Maybe those at Garmin believe that they are clean. Some people who lie and lie....at some point start believing their own lies.

How does a career doper become president of the North American Pro Road Cyclists?

The ANAPRC was formed earlier this year under temporary president Christian Vande Velde and interim executive director Michael Carcaise.

The ANAPRC (Association of North American Professional Road Cyclists) was formally created in October 2014 and in November became a member of the CPA (Cyclistes Professionels Associ?s), the global riders' association headed by Gianni Bugno. As the 2015 season gets underway, the North American riders have revealed their plans and the CPA has welcomed them as the eighth national association under the CPA umbrella.

Membership is open to retired and active riders from the top divisions of men's road cycling ? WorldTour, ProContinental, and Continental.

The initial Board of Directors includes Christian Vande Velde as president, Lucas Euser, Brent Bookwalter (BMC), Ted King (Cannondale-Garmin), Tejay van Garderen (BMC), Matthew Busche (Trek Factory Racing) and Peter Stetina (BMC). They volunteered for the roles, with full elections to be held in early 2015. ANAPRC said it is actively seeking candidates to serve as the long-term Executive Director of the organization.

I spend way too much time thinking about doping in sports and reading into everything everyone says or does.
With that said, I still remember JV being interviewed during Hesjedal's final stage time trial in the Giro and thinking he wasn't happy at all. His was not the voice of a director cheering on the inevitable grand tour victory of one of his riders. Contrary to the broadcasters--who were trying to inject some excitement into the proceedings--JV sounded downright depressed.
I got the impression Hesjedal needed to fall off his bike in order to maintain the clean cycling mantra.

but JV has struggled to get his team underwritten (sounds like poor ggrammar so prolly is) and had to do the merger with C-Dale, then he looked, well, previously he looked to that French Hardware store that the Australian sprinter Jay Sweet rode for Big Mat Auber, I think Big Mat is the hardware, but FDJ manager Madiot I thought had advanced negotiations with Big MAt and he may have even close them for a small swatch on the jersey for 2 seasons... I am not sure if JV was attempting to cut Madiot off at the pass or MAdiot managed to cut JV off at the pass.

i cant remember my point, i prolly never had a point.

oh yeah, even with Ryder on the lipotropin and aicar and gw and winning the giro,JvV still struggled to close Sharp etc and get them to re-up. its a tough game, even if you are Riis. you need a bigpockets backing you like Doug Ellis or Oleg Tinkov. And I doubt the story JV says about Ellis coming to him, I reckon JV hit him up, not vice versa. just intuition tells me this. I would like to ply Ellis with 6 beers and a honey trap and have him do the pillow talk when his guard comes down so we get the truth.

honey trap always works. cos men's brains are usually centred in groin.

Team Sky were the first to advertise their taste for technological innovation when they started in the elite in 2010, trying to reproduce British track cycling's hunt for marginal gains on the road.

"What they did so well is execute and systematise, because they had a huge budget they were able to execute and systematise all the advances across the board of the team," Vaughters said.

"In other teams maybe we had the means to do wind tunnel testing for one or two riders -- it's a smaller scientific operation."

I'm lovin' it!

Re: Team Garmin getting dropped in the new era of cycling

JVs internal system is probably not up to date with this years new PEDs (or winning formula of PED mix) so he is not going to risk anything and his team is getting crushed, but there are signs others are ignoring JV and doing their own thing, hello Formolo who was on Teide and hangs out with the Basso's...........

JV long given up the clean peloton jive talking that he did. He basically uses to his twitter to try and be humourous, another fail on JVs part.

Even RaceRadio today posted

Best phrase I can use to describe the first week of the Giro...... “Peloton à deux vitesses”

Was it TdF '99 and Basson the only clean rider in the race. So RR seems to point to a fully juiced peloton barring 1 or maybe 2 riders......
