edit - luckily my cardiologist advises me to keep doing as much cardio as I have been, counter productive to reduce the hours spent on the bike or running.

...the study also confirmed a threefold higher risk for a type of heart inflammation called myocarditis, though researchers did not give the number of expected cases versus actual cases.

Myocarditis was seen most commonly in young men. It's believed to be related to immune response triggered my the mRNA vaccines by Pfizer and Moderna, which work by instructing cells to produce the same protein that sits atop the coronavirus.

This prompts the immune system to produce antibodies against the spike protein, providing protection against Covid. In rare cases, this immune response may lead to inflammation in the heart muscle.

Typically, the myocarditis instances have been relatively mild, leading to just 28 deaths.
Additionally, both the first and fourth doses of the Moderna vaccine had between 1.7 and 2.6 times greater number of instances of pericarditis, an inflammation affecting the protective sac encasing the heart.

They looked at more than 39 million Moderna vaccine doses administered.

I have a severely enlarged right ventricle and will be undergoing closure of an atrial septal defect in December. Obviously I have had the defect for my entire life but only started having noticeable symptoms (ones that I couldn't dismiss as being from aging) within the last year or so - the ASD was discovered about two years ago. Since I was not symptomatic when this was discovered my DR's and I have been going slowly.

Just like you, I am not a cardiologist but VH's story, if not being muddied in translation seems very hard to accept as true.

That is very misleading. Almost everyone who got the vaccine(s) also got covid. So while there is a stronger connection between [covid infection] and myocarditis than [mrna vaccine] and myocarditis, this doesn't imply that getting the mrna vaccine reduces the chance of myocarditis. The vaccine does not effectively prevent covid (although it may reduce the severity) and no one has studied whether vaccine + covid confers less risk of myocarditis than just covid.

The study you're referencing is here and I recommend reading it instead of news articles or press releases. Since we are apparently cherry-picking statistics from that study: the MRNA vaccines increase the risk of myocarditis 6-fold after 2 doses. And that is independent of whether the patient ever gets covid.

So: if you got an MRNA vaccine then you greatly increased your chances of myocarditis, full stop. Doesn't matter if you did or didn't get the actual infection afterwards (or before).

Time limitations meant I did not read the report but it does show the link between vaccines and covid and all manner of nasty side effects.
