What a load of 5h!t... Colombians no longer need visas to enter the Schengen countries, much less Spain. If this was indeed Betancur's explanation, somebody please tell this embarrassment of a professional to at least make an effort to come up with plausible excuses.

Betancur himself says it's a problem with the work permit:

I doubt he needed a work permit to show up for that event.

Its good for Carlos that he is training with Sagan, Moser and Gatto but does anybody knows why is Fatancur wearing that red jersey instead of the Movistar?

Looks like a sunday rider who accidentally met some pros and joined them for the coffe break.

From Sagan's Tweet: Just a quick coffee break with @MorenoMoser @gatto_oscar and @juliencamellini at @CaffeVergnano in Ventimiglia

It's not Betancur.

I thought the same thing. But is this really Betancur? It doesn't look like him to me.

Edit: Ah ok. Now I see it's not him :D

BTW, Colombia's DS (Carlos Mario Jaramillo) still counts on CABG for Rio.
So the so called ban was more of an answer from the heat of the moment.
The old Betancur suits perfectly for the parcours.

And D. Sebastião will return from amid the mist. We need to stop deluding ourselves.

There are enough others who are also suited to the course, if Betancur doesnt show anything he should not be in the selection, atm I would go for N Quintana, SL Henao, Chaves, Uran and Lopez (5 different (major) squads). But if Arredondo gets back to his best after his injury from last year he is also very interesting +they might leave someone out to get a guy in who has no problem with sacrificing himself 100%.
