Why can't he do this in the big races against Pog? He wouldn't need as many ITT km's then. He could just ride off...
In all fairness that new UAE climb might be too steep for Fat Issac, Desert Pantani Yates is injured and Vingegaard has been concentrating on his real estate business so that race might be due an asterisk too.

Nice win from Evenepoel, but also a bit boring. There races are more interesting with B-Tier riders, than one of the big 6 there. The gap is just too big to make it interesting

Simply put, he can't drop Pogacar, and Vingegaard on the climbs, and Pogacar on a road bike is very good at maintaining pace and difference in flat (last kilometers in Lombardy for example).
This year's Tour has few mountains. We'll see a false sense of equality, and I think the fans will think he'll at least beat Vingegaard, but I thing it won't happen in the mountains.
Also, with the fatigue from the days of the race, Remco is less superior to the rest than he already is in one day races.
Although the Tour has designed a route with so few climbs that people might think even Lipowitz and Ayuso could win it because there won't be any significant differences until almost the end.
Mcnulty focusing on his top 10 at the le tour and Vlasov I haven't seen him in ages, maybe he got conscripted?

Good stuff from Remco, but after two days of hard racing he will probably drop early tomorrow and focus on stages rather than the GC.
Morgado didn't get too badly burned by the sun after all. It has benefited him that the second group didn't continue.
