I still think Remco will always have problems in the high mountains. He could do another Tour like in 2024, but at the cost of a great sacrifice. He's not a cyclist who feels comfortable or natural climbing in the high mountains.
He's from Belgium after all

I agree in terms of the high mountains.

However, before completely giving up on that, I'd love to see a completely injury free/crash free prep. we have literally, yet to see that.

We saw that in 2022, when he won the Vuelta
That route barely featured any high mountains.

Valverde won the Vuelta and was never a favorite to win the Tour due to his limitations in the high mountains.
I'm not saying that Remco climbs worse than Valverde, is just to put into context how different the Vuelta is.

Yeah everyone always has an excuse when Evenepoel wins a big race, I'm aware

You haven't understood my message. It's not an excuse to say that Remco has had difficulties in the high mountains.
Sean Kelly won the Vuelta, he had problems in high mountain.

The Vuelta has been won by cyclists who weren't particularly strong climbers. That's more difficult in the Tour, although there are exceptions like Wiggins because Froome let him win

I don't think Evenepoel has issues in the high mountains. There are just 2 riders better. You are acting as if he finishes outside of the top 10 in high mountains...

Pereiro and Sastre won the Tour. G. Thomas is also not the best climber and he won the Tour.
Your argument is invalid.
It is not the 1980s and the Vuelta is much harder and more mountainous now.
