Motopacing makes a difference, but based on the 20s difference at the finish it doesn’t matter. He would’ve been dropped anywayCome on now. It makes a huge difference. When you snap the elastic and spend more energy to claw back.
You seem to be mistaking me for someone arguing that moto towing is a good thing. When Pog gets towed at AGR and at a random Italian farmers' race it is just as ugly.
You don't know thatMotopacing makes a difference, but based on the 20s difference at the finish it doesn’t matter. He would’ve been dropped anyway
Maybe, but it's not so obvious. It was a big headwind, so that moto really helped Evenepoel. The attacking rider had more slipstream than the attacked. You saw how everyone else were in big groups on the climb. Hard to get away without motos.Motopacing makes a difference, but based on the 20s difference at the finish it doesn’t matter. He would’ve been dropped anyway
It also goes like this..Movistar getting towed by the moto, no problem.
Remco attacks and uses the moto in a smiliar way, it's almost cheating....
At least be consistent and either condemn the moto drag or be fine with moto drag.
Don't change your standpoint according to which rider is getting the moto drag.
He would have won today anyway. You don't know that
Sometimes they block the rider....He would have won today anyway.
But I have doubts about the medal in Rwanda. He recovered more than a minute behind the cars.
Motorcycles in races are a problem, but it has to be said that they're a problem for everyone. In breakaways in the Tour and other races, they're often decisive for many cyclists.
Lmao. It's a good job he wasn't up against decent opposition. It's not as though he smashed em out of the park. He was blowing like he is on 100 cigs a day at the finish.as I said, Remco could have smoked a whole pack of cigs today and still won.
He will need to be better to win the UAE Tour, however
He did give himself and the team the best chance of getting the win, I thought. Short shallow headwind climb against Scaroni and Morgado isn't an absolute given, even though he'd still be favourite probably. A duel against Rondel is way better odds. And it gave Van Gils license to sit on.It was an enjoyable race to watch, with Remco being remco and doing too much to get the win. It's part of why i like watching him race despite me always thinking he could have about the same chances of winning a race by doing a whole lot less.
Rondel is a promising rider, he had some good results last year and rode a smart race, he's no pogacar but to call him "not decent opposition" isn't fair to him.Lmao. Exactly. Like when I've never heard a peep out of Pogacar fans when he does it.Remco was waving his arms like a man possessed when he was trying to catch up on the previous descent with a moto in front of the lead rider. I didn't see him telling the moto to effoff when he attacked on the final climb. But it does happen all the time. Suppose its ok if its your fav rider, and not if its not.
