There seems to be a newfound respect between the two best climbers in the world:

I think we’ve got mutual respect. In particular I respect the way he approaches races and tries to attack at the hardest point, that’s similar to myself and I respect that. He’s young. I’d like to think he’s doing everything right and that he’s got a bright future ahead of him.”

Perhaps this encouraging friendship can be developed into an Anglo-Saxo/Latin alliance, in the unlikely event Nibali or Contador happen to be leading a GT they both contest in the future? Only time will tell.
Oh Froome again with his "I respect my rival so much" BS... let's see if he will now crap on Quintana in a biography

Decent defense today but him and the team are starting to suffer.Hopefully tomorrow he'll be better for a epic battle on L'Alpe d'Huez with Quintana :)

Looks like the target is still on:
"It’s going to be very full on [tomorrow], I’m actually quite looking forward to it, the most iconic stage of this year’s Tour - it’s going to be epic out there. It would be an absolute dream [to win on the Alpe] but I’ve got to keep up with a little Colombian first."
Btw he didn't liked Nibali attack.

Froome was hanging on today. Fantastic effort and IMO it would be awful if he loses on the last day. I do hate Sky but Froome digging deep like he did today and yesterday deserves his victory . Great performance.

Come on its racing and fluid and we had the usual first week of chaos that's got some time gaps that "maybe"
would have made a difference
Froome has not been strong the last 2 days but no one in contention i.e. Quintana /movie are strong enough to do anything or much about it.
If Nibs showed the form he has the last few days we would have had a different race.
Without a doubt though when you look how strong Bertie has been after all that racing, you have to say last years Vuelta was a true result.
Bertie made his choice and Froome IMO has been great the last 2 days.
Anyone else instead of Quintana and I would say Froome would be under real pressure tomorrow but looking at
the way Quintana has been riding I don't think he his strong enough to attack early or got the balls to lay it on the line.
I'm always happy " not happy :D " to admit I'm wrong. Great race by Froome

"It was unsporting" blah blah.
Why would you care about what someone does who's way behind you in GC? It's not like Nibali was attacking the yellow jersey.

If it happens, it would one truly epic day of racing.
I don't think it'll happen though.

Froome probably doesn't care about losing time to Nibali. The problem is, other riders waited for Froome while Nibali didn't, so Nibali got an advantage over all the other riders that waited for Froome.

Jesus Christ Froome. Why are you caring about Nib's attack. He was 8 minutes down FFS. If anything he was using the confusion to attack the group, not Froome in particular. Kinda like what Sky and BMC did on stage 2 when Hanson crashed

Froome is entitled to his opinion just as much as everyone else.

Anyway, a sensible ride from Froome today, maybe just starting to feel the effects of being the strongest in the race for 18 days. He shouldn't go into the red just to follow Quintana tomorrow, just use his team until the lower slopes of D'Huez then pace himself which he usually does so well. Even if he loses 1 minute it doesn't matter and I'm sure he knows this anyway.

The long valley before AdH is very beneficial to Froome. If Quintana can get a gap over Col de la Croix de Fer, Movistar will have to put men up the road and be ready to lead out Quintana to the final climb. It might be advantageous for SKY to chase down early breaks that contain Movistar riders. It is a short stage and they don't have to save anything for Sunday. If not for the echelons earlier in the race, this would have the makings of a classic finish.

Nibali was 8 minutes down on GC.
Froome chased Nibali down earlier on the stage when he attacked.
Froome had no right to do that and was just showing his strength or has a grudge against Nibali after what happened earlier in the race.
Nibali wisely went again when Froome wasnt there to chase him down.

He specifically said "you don't do that to the race leader". He wasn't thinking about any of the others.

Unless Nibs go's mad tomorrow and pulls off a Landis then [ say in a west country [uk] accent 3x] " It don't matter"

Spot on. Its up to Quintana to lay it on the line and go for broke early on. Really enjoyed this tour, Very exciting this week. Not happy that its Sky but Froome has rode his Chaos theory limbs to the limit " respect" and it would be awful to lose on the last day,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, unless Nibs did a Landis.

I bet he'll look for the vengeance tomorrow.
The team will have something prove, he's been targeting the stage and it's personal, I believe.

Wasn't Nibali the guy who blaimed Froome for his falling?

What does mistaken identity have to do with anything? When I saw the yellow jersey crash I initially thought it was Froome too. It the heat of the moment it can be easy to forget things like Martin taking the jersey by a few seconds or whatever
