The character he showed in his profane rant to the media? BW was knighted because he brought in a haul of gold medals. You don't call a bronze medalist Sir.

Indeed, every athlete rides roughshod over cameramen doing their job, ranting and raving with a foamed mouth about journalists doing their job asking questions and insult fans!

Why are we surprised when every athelete does this. Messi.. he spits in the face of fans when his team is scored against. Lebron James punches a cameraman every time his team looses and Ulrich ranted against every journalist who asked him why Lance was so much stronger.

Really, we should accept this behavior of Wiggins, there's nothing wrong with it! It's not as if this is not accepted in business, school or in the supermarket.

The dislike people seem to have for Froome, is that mainly because he rides for Sky?

He's an exciting rider who looks to get off the front and put the hurt on where he can. If he was riding for, say, Cannondale, would people like him more?

I actually like Froome but i'm not supporting for him since he usually rides against Contador and word goes i'm a fanboy (laflo-level) of him.

Froome made Wiggins look ridiculous in the tour last year, he will always have a place in my heart for doing that.

I wish he would have just dropped wiggins though but i can't blame him for listening to his employer

He waited for Wiggins which is not typical champion behaviour even if honorable.Would Contador,Hinault,Roche,Armstrong waited.

That's a good question. Wiggins was the leader beforehand.

Hinault wouldn't wait, Armstrong neither. Don't know roche well enough.

And Contador? Maybe i'm not sure. In tour 2009 he was the assigned leader although attacking on arcalis was not planned. Not sure about Contador really.

Under the circumstances presented in 2009, Contador would not have waited.

I like Froome to a certain degree. But there's no denying, his riding for Sky makes me like him less. Not only because I don't like Sky that much but also because at Sky he still uses the skytrain tactic for the most part. Which means he will only go away in the final Km's on MTF's and skytrain the rest of the climb. At another team I think he would be much more of a Contador-like rider/climber (more attacking, less sky-training up climbs). That would make me like him more.

I like Froome cos of his personality, but I HATE Sky so its very difficult for me.If he leaves this team he will be one of my favourites GC riders after Contador, colombians and others.

Charmless, no style, suspicious on clinic matters. Just look at him waving his elbows while reading his power meters notoriously. He is not racing a bike. Hes watching numbers. He also comes off as arrogant and every time he comes with a humble comment it seems forced and fake. And dont get me started on his choice of girls.

He's watching his numbers to make sure he doesn't drop Wiggins. When he's the leader and in form he's a spectacle. And I love his girlfriend ever since she said David Walsh was smoking his socks. No argument on the clinic issues, but I loved watching Riccò race as well.

To go from point A to point B, if i can use a car then why would run unnecessary. He has the luxury of a train so logically he will use it. But he is not as talented as Contador. If he attacks like Contador then he will lose. Contandor is possibly the only person other than Purito who can make repeated strong attacks in the mountains. Even Purito doesn't make that many, he only responded to some of them in the Vuelta.

The best climber and one of the best timetrialists. I quite like Froome. He is exceptionally charismatic given his the alien appearance and image. He has his own climbing manner surely, both visual and scenic one. I like to read reactions on the forum when people didn't want to recognize his superioirity to the bitter end (Ospedale, probably). Plus, he rides for the team in which Kostyan and Kiri are in good standing.

Contador is definitely more talented. But Froomes limitations (while they have become much clearer) are still somewhat unknown. And what he has done this year so far indicates that he may not need repeated strong attacks. His performances this year have been done most of the time with a single powerful attack. Contador will be attacking him and Sky in the Tour, so if Contador attacks in a vuelta 2012 style that should tell us if he can respond to repeated attacks.

But surely that's why the train ( obviously it's not the key thing they set up the train for that is )

The train makes sure Froome only produces one, but VERY big attack. He only needs one attack, as the train control other attackers quite well to a point.

It just depends how well the train will be going at the Tour, but I expect it will be strong.

Repeated attacks against Sky is a knowingly losing tactics.

That's are why I don't think Contador should adopt a 2012 Vuelta style of attacking in the Tour.

If all goes according to plan in the Tour for Froome he won't need to attack until the final couple hundred meters-final couple Km's. I'm hoping the train falters a bit and we see how he handles going toe-to-toe with Contador earlier in the mountains.

mate, do you believe i didn't see it? :p The Vuelta 12 doesn't count because Froome wasn't a threat there and hence didn't need the team. Team can't salvage a rider if he's completely cooked. Though, I value that Froome's result very highly.
