More on Adams comments on RadioCycling podcast - (there's a lot of verbal aggro going on at the moment - it must be all those extra carbs or something)

https://cyclinguptodate.com/cycling...d-israel-premier-tech-boss-slams-chris-froome

""We've been very generous with Chris in terms of helping him, trying to give him the best possible equipment, the best possible conditions... He can start talking about his bike position, that's still not going to get him selected for a deliver a Grand Tour," Adams slams. "That will only happen if he is able to compete and prove that he is a relevant force. And we're not even talking about winning grand tours anymore, but just about being a useful teammate."

A useful teammate?! Ouch! That's going to hurt ...
(My comment about talking to the mechanics was instead of posting photos online, just fix the problem.)

Froome is either batsh*t delusional or simply the finest troll of our generation thus far. One way or another I look forward to being on Dawgwatch come February.
To put it mildly, I didn't particularly like him when he was a relevant competitor. But the past years have been class a trolling. It doesn't even matter if he is doing it intentionally or is delusional as you suggest.

From where I stand it's a win-win, as by riding along at a pedestrian level he also puts huge question marks around the TDFs.

Could it not be easier to pay him off to get rid. They could at least get someone else in who would be more useful, or an extra bike washer.
Indeed. And it's pretty rich for Adams to criticize Froome, when everyone knew that signing him to a huge (and apparently guaranteed) multi-year contract was, a best, a risky bet, and at worst...exactly how it has played out.

Yeah, Adams was all excited like a kid at Christmas with getting Israel PT into the WT and his big gamble on Froome was like a sucker walking into a Vegas casino.

It depends on how Adams wouldve dealt with a situation where Froome was equally ***, but honest about the situation. Like “I’m not anywhere good as before, I like the life as a pro cyclist” etc.

If Adams in a situation like this wouldve been like “it’s not what we hoped for, but he’s trying and we have to accept the situation”, then I think it’s okay to lose his *** over this version of Froome. To me it seems like Adams is sick of Froomes ***, not only disappointed about his performances.

Thomas added Froome is old school. He is not at the new way of nutrition, he just train and train a lot... If that is the case he is not going to get very good results, and his 3rd place at Alp D Huez has big mérits. Hope someone can change his habbits and start to addap to this new era. When Sky started his new methods they were the best, but later everybody use that (It depends their budgets). But now everybody of his generation say they are going faster than ever with worse resuts. So if he reached the level he had 10 or 5 years ago, today he could just be a top ten at le Tour...he has to readapt as Thomas did, and he could figh for podium maybe as Thomas will do ( even drinking beer at winter). Hope someone Who read this try to change Froome mind abd habits, althoug I think need time to get resuts after to start the new era nutrition. The body need to addat...Thomas started some years ago and he was still on time. Anyway I hope some good results for Froome next year, even if he wont make any change at nutrition.

Thomas has obviously forgotten the words of Froome's wife Michelle (post Vuelta 2011 breakthrough).
She explained her husband's sudden transformation was the result of the couple dedicating themselves to nutritional research.
Well, what choice did she really have? She had to come up with something.
Anyway Froome has ALWAYS been seen as a rider dedicated to nutrition/weight etc....
Don't you remember the famous line: "All he had to do was lose the fat?"
The notion that Froome is now an 80's-style rider pushing big gears, relying on bread and water and saying 'to hell with nutrition' is risible.

Yes, but allí school nutrition..now thy ate much more during a stage than 5 years ago, Thomas explained in a previous recent ibterview. WhatsApp Froome do could be very good done years ago, now they eat differently, much more for a stage of CH. Anyway the team should implement that to his riders... I know he has been good and hard off those things like most of riders today, but what Thomas said that interview was new for me, and he said It is not easy to adapt the body If I didnt misundertund
I did not know that Froome has gone "veganish" after his big crash - from 2019 -

https://www.veganfoodandliving.com/...-based-diet-after-watching-the-game-changers/

I see that Israel PT only have a chef under "nutrition" on their website. Maybe Froome should be chatting more with his old buddies at Ineos/Sky to catch up on the latest nutrition tips, although the irony is that Froome's 2018 Giro 80km "ride to glory" was fueled by the "high carbs people" at SiS.

Edit- Froome lost the fat, by a low carb diet, but nowadays it's the opposite - more carbs the merrier!

Are we really going to forget Sky having more feed zones than every other team and making sure they had a feeding bag before the major climbs.

Is this thread really go down the road again with an “if Froome had done x, y, or z he would be challenging for another Tour win?
Sometimes it's funny to come hear and read the drivel. Sometimes fun to engage with it. This time...all this Sky BS getting regurgitated again as if we don't all know what was behind the performances...it's just too much. So dumb.
