Why would Froome compete in the Criterium du Dauphine as Tour de France preparation?
Why give his big three rivals a front row seat as to his current condition?
Much better to sharpen up the form and get into the 'rhythm of the racing' away from their prying eyes.
The Tour de Suisse also finishes a week closer to the start of the Tour, which allows Froome to hold the form over a shorter period of time and begin the quest for number Five at his peak.
Fingers crossed Israel Premier Tech properly commit to Project Five with the best team around him, devoted to the cause.
