too early to say, a bit worring though because pretty much everyone else will improve in the second week. we'll see more after the itt

hfer07 said:I'm a bit troubled by what took place today for him: SKY did a massive work to destroy everyone and apparently Froome was the only one chocked, because he simply couldn't respond to Contador, Nairo & Purito- and please do not bring the crash excuse, because he was able to outsprint then yesterday.
Is he really on top form? Froome's style is to glow right from the beginning to bulk his gain towards the end, when he usually fades. Is he trying the opposite this time? to reserve all to the end?
interesting...

You got it. That's called bluffing.DFA123 said:I thought Sky were deliberately riding quite slowly when on the front, the group behind was pretty big and not at all strung out. Not sure that they were trying to destroy everyone, more just trying to control the race at the pace Froome wanted.
Pricey_sky said:Before the Vuelta started I believed Froome would improve the more the race went on, so kind of opposite to what we've seen from him in the past. I believe Froome said the same in an interview beforehand but I didn't see it. Today was a bad day from him, but he only lost 20 seconds. No need to panic yet but he can't afford another bad day now.
If he will be en roja tuesday evening, things might get even more interesting.IMO There is nothin better for Froome than to be in leaders jersey. It give him confidence etc,he will be stronger then.We will see.hfer07 said:indeed. Is likely he'll be in Rojo after the ITT, but what is intriguing is his form & capacity to challenge Contador & Quintana, well knowing in advance they get stronger in the last week- specially Nairito, which hasn't been affected by any injury and training has been progressive towards La Vuelta, unlike Froome & Alberto. SKY as a team did a great job, but as I wrote- they hurt Froome today.....
we'll see...
Parker said:You're imaging it. They may have had a brief disagreement at one time. Surely Valverde would have a bigger feud with Belkin for the 2013 Tour echelon stage.
And as for Olympics, don't you think they may have been trying to win themselves.
And I have no idea what interviews you're on about. Is Valverde furious with Froome for his two year ban?
Franklin said:I might be imagining it, but considering the ongoing sniping I'm quite okay in thinking I'm not imagining things at al
No. Seriously no.
Nibali just kept on attacking to spite Wiggo. Or are we claiming that Nibali actually was thinking he could ride away 60 km out? No tactics, no leader. Just attacking till he folded.
Same with Spain, they just drilled on front. No tactics at all.
And this third bit makes me realize there's some national bias here. If you do not realize Sky and it's leaders have been suggesting how clean they are contrarty to those dirty spanish I just can only conclude you are just not listening.
And yeah, the hopscotch avoiding to comment on Froome autobiography shows that even you know that that one hurt his image as you can only realize he's extremely paranoid, holds many gruges and is borderline.
Heck, the book itself makes him damaged goods. Contador has been making fun of Froome in images portraying his insane fantasies.
Parker said:(Also, from what I've heard, Valverde isn't that popular anyway).
Parker said:You're a fan. You want a feud. Just like they have in reality TV. That's normal. I like that too. But it's just not there.
Obviously at the Olympics, Spain's tactics of putting Valverde in a breakaway group was just out of spite and nothing about trying to win. About 20 countries seem to have a feud with GB.
Feuds really don't last that long, I also lost you at 'hopscotch'.
Valverde is seen as a doper because he got busted for doping.Nothing to do with Sky. Every team parades themselves as clean these days, even Movistar. Sky don't have a monopoly on that. They haven't even signed up for the MPCC publicity plan.
(Also, from what I've heard, Valverde isn't that popular anyway).
LaFlorecita said:Not tactics, but he certainly didn't lose it based on strength.
TANK91 said:How much will he need over Contador to be a threat do you think guys?. "If" he takes 2 minutes would be a great Vuelta.
1.00 to 1.30 would be fine for dawg imo. (so after tt 30secs to minute)Vino attacks everyone said:If he continues to climb like he has he would need atleast 2 min over AC. But I can't see why his form shouldn't improve just like the others. So we might suddenly see him winning after being s.t as AC after the tt
