I think Froome will get stronger and fight for the win but I think you have several riders who can win this.

he just had a bad day, it is not a question ofbecome estronger, he is not going to be like he was in the Giro, but nobody will be even close, that is normal. He is the better in ITT of everybody, so this is not like in the Tour.

You mean the Tour? I agree he won't ride like he did the first two weeks in the Tour but do I believe he will improve on the coming stages ( at least in a relative sense). I don't see him dropping everyone in the mountains though, if he is going to win this Vuelta then he needs to ride a good ITT. But I'm not sure he will TT like he did a couple of years ago, so a guy like Valverde could be close in the ITT.

To be as strong like in the Tour...I didnt mean relatively, but as strong. If he dropped people by lot of time is not becousehe is like in the Tour, but of coure very close.

What he do is going to do it with his base level, becouse he didnt went to altitude for this, nor rest properly after le Tour. Anyway could be enough, we saw him vstrong the forst days, and tomorrow we will see if he is oj of of he is getting worse.. today I saw him really well.

I think in Andulicia the day Chris lost time he only did so to a better GC rider than any at the Vuelta, so it is not really comparable
I think Contador slipped ahead with his team on the technical run-in to the climb and managed to hold off the challenges afterwards. I don't know what would have happened if they'd all started the climb at the same time.

I am watching cycling since 97 and I have to admit I never saw a more spectacular rider. Weather you like him or not, he's giving you some awful sensation when you see him dropped and then attacking a minute later. Remembering 2012 Vuelta and I think it's the only big GC rider I ever saw to get back in the favorites group (Contador, Piti and Purito) after being dropped and attacking the following second just to get dropped again. He is the real Skark not that bottle throwing guy from Astana. It's not good for your heart to want this guy to win but definitely it's not good to want another rider to win, see your guy dropping Froome on the first slopes just to come back and drop your rider. Still fresh in my memory a stage from last year Vuelta when Sky were pulling hard in front and Froome was getting dropped and I was like WTF. Just to get the answer minutes later. Vive le Yoyo Froome!

Like I said previous, Froome will TT up climbs like last years Vuelta.
You would have thought Valverde and co would have learnt something. No Contador this time, so unless they sort themselves out Froome could win this.

To attack at the very bottom of the climb with such gradients and length was just fudging stupid. They deserved the beating they got today.
A waste of energy and pain. Rode like idiots except 1 and 2 .

I agree, it's obvious that Froome is going to be below par here but today the others played right into Froome's hands. Little attacks that wasted energy and then sat up allowing Froome to just pace himself before he put in a big dig in the final K when the others were spent.

If they do the same on Wednesday then Froome could be in red, although it also wouldn't surprise me if he dropped off the back and lost lots of time. I have to say I really do like this yo-yo Froome, it's brilliant!

I still can't believe they attacked right at the bottom of the climb, after about 10 yards I said to my wife "Froome is going to win this stage" That sort of gradient and length is the sort of climb you let the race come to you .
All that stem work pays off on days like this :D
I personally don't think Froome will suffer any more than the other Tour riders. I think Aru etc [non tour riders] need to take advantage. Don't stand around looking at each other like your on a track bike but get your legs going and get the time. They can sort out the podium on the road.
If Valverde and Quitana and Purito play the same games again they deserve to lose.

People as Domoulin, Pozzo, Chaves, Aru,... has an advantage (not so big as people say) respect Froome becouse they are fresher, but they are not so good to beat Froome even with that advantage, except Domoulin confirmed he is good in 3 weeks and he can do well in stages with more that one big climb. something that I dont rule out yet.

With Quintana yes, becouse is the first time Quintana do this double and it is a big challenge for him.

Yesterday good day for Froome wasn't a happy one for Roche who was involved in the early crash :(

He's brilliant. The fact he's genuinely hated by so many people who follow the sport is a tragedy.

Absolutely, he never fails to give it all and attacks and lights the race up. Yesterday the detractors were slagging him off whilst saying what an exciting stage finish it was, well perhaps that's because he was there doing his thing, duh.
