Bernal has plenty of time to win grand tours, Froome only has 1-2 years left even if he gets back to full fitness. while no-one wants the Froome era to end more than me I think if he's right next year, the team will ride for him with Bernal ready to take over should the dawg not have the legs.

Clearly Stronger than Wiggins at that point so .....
so....what? That an individual teammate may be stronger at a point of one stage in a 3 week race shouldn't compromise the overall strategy or team orders. That's stage racing 101 for any amateur. Have a plan and if you're lucky to have a strong #2 rider you can have an alternate plan should plans need to change.
Froome may emerge as the strongest rider for ineos before the Tour and he'll need to display that strength to make his point. Bernal pretty much got a pass this in year's Tour with the lack of deep competition and the chaos of some final stages. It looks like this year's Tour will be tactically and physically more demanding. The guy that can keep up, recover and go with the moves that count will win.

It's an old pic from a series of photos of 2017, from the professional photograh Pauline Ballet, le Tour de France posted some of them under : riders are more than men in lycra (Froome, Barguil, Kittel....) as being at TDF is his goal for 2020, I can understand that he chose this photo. here the tweet from TDF View: https://twitter.com/LeTour/status/927120835009175553?s=20

Was he scheduled for any early season races already or did they announce nothing so far on Froome's schedule?

I haven’t seen a single race mentioned for him apart from himself targeting the TDF, but others might know more than me.

I did think it was interesting Bernal and Thomas flirted with Giro, go to December camp and suddenly they’re all in for TDF.
