I remember Joseba Beloki too. After his terrible crash in the 03 Tour he never returned as a challenger again.

Least surprising misbuy ever.
No reflective tweets from Chris Froome concerning these two opening stages of the race, but he has posted important news of a Tenerife snowball fight involving him and his team mates last week.
Quite apt really, 'cos he has a snowball in hell's chance of doing anything in Catalunya.
Chris Froome continues long-term Tour de France buildup at Volta a Catalunya
Low-key time trial follows eight-minute loss on first stage
I'll be surprised if he finishes the Tour. I expect him to get dropped like a stone on an echelon or short climb early and be out of the picture, ride a bit more with a brave face, then pull out and target the Vuelta, where we'll see basically a repeat of last year.
However, despite being more or less not a Froome van, particularly in the 2013 - 2015 timeframe, I would love to be surprised and see him contending again. It would be a great storyline and really awesome for the sport, IMO.
CN full on trolling now:
"Low key" time trial is my favorite, but "long-term...buildup" is a close second.
If he is in the top 15, the discussion will need to move to another forum.I mean honestly does anyone believe in Froome anymore?
I commend him for coming back from injury. But old Froome pretty much was on fire even in prep races. Now he's in gazillionth position. It would surprise me if he top 15's in the Tour
It's getting a bit silly, isn't it!?CN full on trolling now:

It could be true because in tour uae he looked better. For some reason he looks worse now.Now Chris Froome is saying his recent altitude training is a disadvantage and responsible for his terrible Stage One performance!
