Froomey was quite good today. Lost only little more than six minutes in Romandie‘s queen stage. That‘s not bad.

All riders in front of him have been strong riders, there were no CT level riders dropping him, this time. Now I‘m curious what he will do tomorrow, how much time he will lose in the MTT, compared to the stage winner.

Of course, I wish him that he loses no time at all… :)

Maybe he saved his power all week, or probably all season, just for today's earth-shattering top 50 performance and have nothing left for tomorrow.

I really wish him well now, but come on, one not-so-awful day doesn't automatically means a guaranteed upward trajectory and he'll become one of the elites again in no time.

just wait

Progress? So, just the Dauphine to come before the Dawg is unleashed for the Tour.
fFroome yesterday was pulling of his team mates in a climb with head wind to posicionate them...He was not the only doing that, and of course there was people as KRUIJSWIJK Steven who were doing that and later finished close to the best.. , But he is a big name. That has big merit, but in this Romandie Froome was working most of the time, and that waste lot of energie,,it is not easy evaluate his level just with the result. Today his 3 minutes lost is not too much for a TT like this, so, if he progress more at Dauphine he could go to le Tour. The question is if he can be a t the level to be the leader of the team, to have other riders working for him..That is not easy with Jakob and Woods on his team, but today he was better than Fuglsang in a vert good ITT for the Danish... and just 45 second behind Woods...so, who knows... He has IMO lot of margin to improve before le Tour. Other way la Vuelta would be ok. Or maybe both of them. If he go to le Tour is at least to be colider,,,no to work

He did a good performance today. Beating Fuglsang and some others. He can only get stronger for dauphine

Froome is never again going to be in a position to challenge Pogacar or Roglic , etc
Its a fact of life and I for one think he should stop taking Israel Start Up nations money and knock it on the head

A team where Patrick Bevin is their best GC hope ...is almost like a form of extortion

I have to ask if you're serious and really are this confused about what you're watching or you're just having a go at us. I genuinely hope it's the latter.

Fuglsang's shape is also pretty awful (but still miles better than Froome). But who knows, maybe come TdF, Froome will indeed be better than Fuglsang (which the discussion no focuses on) but for what? Finishing top 50 in the GC (in the absolutely best case)?

The only good part was that it was a climb. More focus should be put in that then riders that don’t care what their time is while he is going his best.
I am not sure hge was doing his best when he had not the motivation for GC or thge stage...He was just in thios race to help. But I thinbk he more or lees did his best witout that motivation, but the motivation he knows perfectly that climb as he lived in Aigle when was selectiones by UCI for his team .

But wwhy to thibnk Fuglsang didnt do his best when he was in a good position at GC ? The same for other good names he beated.

But anuway, he was 3 and a half minutes from the winner in a hard climb like this, so is not much time. Lot to improve, but he is in progression. If he could go on this progression till Dauohine, he could be there for a top ten level if he is co lider for GC, If he has to work, of course, top 50 is difficult.

With the level Froome has today he is far to go to le Tour. If he goes is not to be a top 50. He is or to be coleader, or to work for other riders, and in that case it doent mind if he finish 60 ir 120 at GC. But his team has lot of good riders to help otr to figh ofor stages or stay in breaks, so it would be difficul.. and now they have Nizzolo, so they will want to have maybe Einhorn, Zabel...Neilants..to make his train..so difficult to be at le Tour...just in case he showed a level similar for a GC than Woods or Fulgsang. He has the endurance for 3 weeks and he is better with hot weather..so le Tour is the race that more fit him..the problem is cobbles,...much better for Fulgsang.

But in the case le Tour is not a posibility, other races could be a good option as well. But I think he can get the level to figh for a good GC position al le Tour, at least a top ten..and I think he is the only rider of his team that is able to do that now.

You say than miles better than Froome according to what?? to the time lost in some stages, when Froome has protected for the wind to Fulgsang ??
The only day he didnt protect him to the wind he finisdhed better than him, so I could admit Fulgsang now is better than Froome, but of course no miles away, but in a close level.

Froome won’t be co leader, that’s for Woods and Fuglsang , and Nizzolo rides in the Giro, so his train and himself won’t be riding in France.
