With such a difficult period behind him I would assume he is happy to race again. So they send him to Guangxi as parting gift![]()
He might be able to win it, and definitely podium it, so I don't think he minds that much. Although I can also imagine he just wants the season to be over, and take some time for himself. Recharge his batteries and get ready for the new season at a new team.So they send him to Guangxi as parting gift![]()
Honestly, good for him! I hope he has a good year next year, and to be honest I admire him for seeking out a team where he can ride the schedule he wants to. I wish del Toro would do the same!![]()
"Giro and Vuelta again" - Cian Uijtdebroeks already has 2026 plans cleared out for Movistar debut
2026 will be Cian Uitjdebroeks debut year with Movistar Team and the Belgian rider is one of the first riders to announce his main goals for the season. It doesn't come as a surprise, as he had said h...cyclinguptodate.com
Ambitious schedule and it seems that plenty of GT leadership involved.
Do you think Blobloblo could have won the Giro this year?Money wasn't the problem, he wants to ride GT's and get a chance to go for GC. At Movistar they have room for another GC rider. Personally i don't understand how that would have been a problem at Visma currently. Other than Vingegaard, there is no other clear GC rider. Jorgenson and Kuss aren't exactly the most consistent GC riders to shut out Uijtdebroeks, but whatever.
Why do you ask that? Oh, you mean because Yates won the Giro. No i do not think he would have won the Giro, nor do i expect him to win it next year. I meant the team has no other leader other than Vingegaard that warrants a complete dedicated team in support of a GC rider and that he should still have been able to get at least one GT per year where he can ride in a free role, at Visma, since Kuss nor Jorgenson are more "sure bets" than Uijtdebroeks.Do you think Blobloblo could have won the Giro this year?
Because of the GC rider at Visma that you didn't mention. Why do you ask that?
I agree, and with how Cian is riding at races that do not particularly suit him at the moment I think Visma will soon realize they let him go to easily.Him and his manager about the transfer to Movistar.

"Movistar wil me naar de top begeleiden in grote rondes": Cian Uijtdebroeks legt verrassende transfer uit | sporza
Het was een verrassing van formaat: de aankondiging dat Cian Uijtdebroeks zijn carrière volgend jaar voortzet bij Movistar. Waarom die move? Guanxi is the greatest race for the trivia nerds. Milan Vader has won more WT stage races than all French riders since Christophe MoreauGuangxi offers his best ever chance to podium a WT race. Possibly for the rest of his career if he doesn't ride there again. Shockingly poor field. So depending on the final start list, I may have to modify my prediction and rather state that he will never podium a WT race after leaving Visma.
Hot take: The frozen sliders are better than the ones in the restaurant.Hey man, do not disrespect a White Castle slider, with those other peasant food establishments.
My fear is that his manager, being a football manager, kind of sweettalked him into thinking he needed to switch teams again (that way the manager cashes again) with some bloated arguments about how he should move to a team where he would be sole GC leader in the GT's he races and that Cian himself didn't really think it through and Visma probably thought it wasn't worth the trouble and cut their losses.I agree, and with how Cian is riding at races that do not particularly suit him at the moment I think Visma will soon realize they let him go to easily.
Would surely have been an option to have him ride for a GC as a co-leader at the Giro. And then make the agreement that if Yates finds himself in first place again Cian will have to ride for him.
Especially with Visma having none of the super talents on board unless you count Nordhagen as one I think it would have been better for Visma to see Cians Development for another year by allowing him an important spot in the Giro.
