Nobody really says 'naar hier' including all the standard incorrect stuff people say in spoken Dutch. If there's a place in NL where it's common I don't know it.

Because I was taught to say hierheen or hiernaartoe, and naar hier runs contrary to everything I ever learned about hier, daar and er, so I'm confused, but my teacher came from the Netherlands and so did the vast majority of our learning materials, so that could theoretically explain it

You are actually completely right, quite impressive that you remembered that. But it's one of those constructs that in part of Flanders is used a lot.

Probably shooting a dead sloth here, but Mas made a perfectly good JOKE in that interview. It was not a sign of disrespect, as both he and Cian declared in the days afterwards.

I thought it was charming and funny at the time, while the response to it reflects the unhealthy discourse of modern day.

He's at his level, maybe a bit below. But he's a consistent 5-10 finish position rider in GC. If Movistar got him to farm UCI points it's not a bad deal tbh.
Yeah despite this last stage I would argue it is a good week for him again. He can also go for a top-10 in the Tour this year and that would be more than decent for him.

He will not become the rider that he was expected to become at the start of his pro career. But he will become a good rider nonetheless.

Okay, but where does that leave him, aside from becoming a well paid mountain domestique?
I mean nothing wrong with that, but clearly not his ambition.

Exactly. He can be a good pro on a good salary. That's nothing to complain about as long as his health keeps up.

A leader at Movistar for top 5-10 in GT’s
Top 10
He only gets top 5 in a weak field
That's basically an improved version of Kurt Van De Wouwer

I'm not knocking. But i think he should go the domestique route and aim for stuff like Emillia.
Maybe if he can improve his sprint, he can aim for more races, but that's not looking likely.
