Once again we're forced to vote even in categories where we don't feel qualified to.

Talk about skewering the polls.

Makes zero sense.

Yes... I took the protest option of voting for the first one in every category, although 15 on from taking the poll have no recollection of what I voted for in those categories.

Actually I think the primo-alphabetical means I voted Absalon as best MTBer... I know he was owning a few years back, although I have no idea whether he still does.

Yeah i only realised this after isoiso said

which seemed bizzare at first, as did your thread title.

a bit of a fail on my part.

I took the poll in the end and pretty much the same options.

Only the best moment answers had just a lot of crap from the Tour- stage 2, 3 8 and 17. If your going to focus pretty much only on the Tour, why not Vinos stage win? In the end i had to vote negatively for Cancellara on RVV.

And Armstrong for best picture.

Was that the "why was 2010 season the best of this decade"?

i figured the obvious answer would be "its the first year of the decade", but I wasnt sure, if maybe its not the last year of the decade instead, so i just wrote "because the Giro was so great", hence covering all my bases

This thread reminds me of this post:
dimspace said:
No, im dismissive of the result because most intelligent people do not feel the need to participate in polls.

People do polls becuase they lack confidence in their opinion, and desperately want what they think to be the winning option to give them some faith in themselves.

Intelligent people are perfectly happy with their thoughts and opinions and dont need them substantiated by the results of am irrelevant poll..

Therefore, logic dictates that the only people who participate in polls are stupid, making the results of the polls largely irrelevant, and does nothing for the polled except to make them think that their stupidity is acceptable and normal.

hehehe, what an ***.

Most improved: Hesjedal. A lot of the choices aren't really "improved", they're breakthrough people who've always been that good but not at the same level - Phinney, Sagan, van Garderen for example.

Stage race: Giro.

One day race: LBL. I love the Ardennes, and the tension here was great.

Best male road rider: Rodríguez - hard to argue with his results stepping from the shadow of Valverde. Consistent top results from February to September.

Best female road rider: Pooley - quite frankly it would be insane to pick anybody else.

Best team: Liquigas - 3 GT podiums, 2 GTs, and a hell of a lot of wins, despite losing one of their leaders.

Best track male: Grégory Baugé - I don't really follow track, but I did watch the clip of his incredible save vs. Sireau recently so will vote for him even if that wasn't this year.

Best track female: Kaarle McCulloch - does a lot of the less appreciated work very well.

Best CX male: Zdenek Stybar - guy is a beast.

Best CX female: Daphny vd Brand - girl is great. Fast, aggressive, hugely talented and wears silly inappropriate pigtails.

Best male MTBer: Sam Hill
Best female MTBer: Maja Wloszczowska
I kinda voted for these (and the tech questions) on the basis of liking their names.

With the best team bike, I love the Dogma, but I felt aggrieved at being forced to vote for Team Sky not for Caisse d'Epargne, so I went for Euskaltel instead, I love Orbea.

Rider of the year: Emma Pooley.

Legend: Gilberto Simoni - Fignon is so obviously going to stroll this that I don't feel guilty for going for Gibo.

Best moment: KBK.

Am I the only one who thinks that the 'picture of the year' nominees this year are weak across the board?

I wrote the exact same thing as you would have done ;)
