Great game. Really exciting, and huge props to Clemson.

I don't know how much they choked, as they were outplayed at the end, it's that simple. They weren't quite as great as everyone kept saying they were. Watson, the receivers, and really their entire offense, showed a lot of grit and poise on the 4th quarter, and especially that last drive, huge credit there.

As to the no-call on the pick play, let's be very clear here, this happens all the time in football The play was just off the line of scrimmage, not down field, and the wide out (Scott) never touched the safety (Brown) who was set to cover the slot/flanker (Renfro), he only touched his dedicated defender (Humphrey), and didn't initiate the contact other than running at Humphrey, in fact, his eyes were not on Humphrey, but back towards Watson. There is no possible way the officials are going to call this, especially that close to the line of scrimmage. Alabama should have been better prepared for it, and very quickly shifted the OLB and far side safety to cover a potential slant from Scott as soon as Watson started to roll out, this would have allowed Brown to move out quicker to cover the the outside, where Renfro was headed.

Even if the refs had called offensive PI, and Clemson hadn't scored on the next play, or just kicked a FG to send it to OT, they had the Tide going backwards at that point and likely would have won the game anyway.

Reporting live from Eugene, OR -

Not only has the new Ducks strengthening/weight room coach been suspended from his job for a month without pay (because, allegedly, three players ended up in the hospital due to over-training), now the new co-co something assistant coordinator has been fired due to a DUI he managed to collect over the weekend.

This is not a good start for the new Ducks football coaching staff, not a good start at all.

This is crazy! Its not really football but since they were football players, I'll post it here:

Wow, that is so messed up... I'll have to record the show because I want to watch the Tour live. But yeah, that's just unreal

On a side note - did the thugs really have to use the same Proctor-Silex iron that I own? I'll never look at the iron the same way again, that's for sure.

Wow...Hugh Freeze out at Ole Miss! There was the Briles scandal at Baylor a couple of years ago and it didn't take long for another high-profile FBS coach to go down for inappropriate behavior. Freeze wasn't all that bad in his 5 yrs at Ole Miss; 39-25 with that impressive 2015 victory over Bama followed-up with the Sugar Bowl victory and a final #9 BCS ranking. All down the toilet now and uncertainty if he will ever get another head coaching job at a FBS school.

Awesome, awesome win for Oklahoma against Ohio State.

Tough loss for Notre Dame. Not as tough as A&M's collapse last week, but this had to hurt.

Watching Stanford-USC has been tough for any Cardinal fans (out there Merckx Index?!) Every time they put together a good drive, including some impressive plays on offense, the Trojans would then march right down the field with relative ease and erase it.

Reporting live from Eugene, OR...

Things were starting to look decent for the Ducks, but now they have a QB situation being their no.1 is out with a broken collarbone. Think they are bringing in their 3rd-string QB this weekend, who knows?

But anyhoo, no worries, WSU Cougars... while Autzen may be slightly loud you know their team's weakness.

Anybody here actually watching this Duck vs. Cougs game?

Neither team seems to know what they are doing, actually.
No...I was mainly watching my Buffs lose in a high-scoring affair to Arizona 45-42 where Arizona's QB rushed for 327 yds! (new FBS record for a QB). With 3 losses now, CU is out of playoff contention and probably also out of a BCS Bowl. :(

And speaking of Wash St: Incredible!...knocks off #5 USC last week and now beats the Ducks pretty handily on the road. With Oklahoma & Michigan going down this will probably boost the Cougars into the top 10 (I'm thinking one or two spots up to #9/#10). And great entertaining game with Iowa St. shocking the #3 Sooners in Norman (anyone else see it?). And the Cyclones did it with their backup QB!

Leach (aka "the mad scientist") is got something going good in Pullman. And you gotta love his interviews; here in a press conference a few days before the Oregon game he lists all the stadiums louder than Autzen. Lol

Pretty sloppy, but my WSU alum boss will be happy again this week!
I watched it, but not as sloppy as one local HS game I went to last Friday night where one team had a half dozen first downs negated due to penalties, yet still won. The officiating at the Oregon-Wazzu game was pretty sloppy too. Was happy my Cougs won, but I'd rather have seen it with Oregon's normal starting QB healthy & able to play. UO freshman backup QB has some skills though. Just needs some development.

As to Coach Leach, he loves the mantra of pirates & has a nutty love of pirates. Pirates are actually pretty evil dudes, so why would someone love pirates, right? His explanation actually makes sense as it relates to team bonding: skin color, where you are from, how you talk, etc, does not matter - pirates are unified by a common goal, to get the treasure. Someday I half expect him to show up somewhere wearing an eye patch.

Upset Friday...Wow! (Friday the 13th, nonetheless, lol):

#2 Clemson loses to Syracuse at the Carrier Dome (starting QB Kelly Bryant is knocked unconscious in the 1st half and done for the rest of the game from a vicious body slam into the turf). No panic yet...as Clemson lost one last year (Pitt), still won the ACC and beat Bama in the championship game. The rest of their schedule looks fairly easy (though they still have FSU lurking in Nov).

#8 Wash St. gets hammered by Cal in smoke-filled Berkeley. If anyone saw the game, Wazzu looked pathetic with the O-line & Falk no way near the same efficiency they've demonstrated this year. A short lived top-10 ranking with a bad loss against a mediocre team. Leach...what's up with this?

SSDD. Last year they drop their first two non-conference games, Boise State and an FCS school Eastern Washington. In 2015 they lost, their first game to Portland State. No business being ranked in the top ten. Then they go on a roll. Wonder why they play down to competition at times.

Didn't see the Cougs game, might catch some of the Stanford - Oregon game later tonight. (Crikes, that game will probably go past 11pm PST, there's little chance I'll stay awake that late.)

I predict a Stanford win... while Oregon's top WRs and second string QB are supposedly back from injury I don't think they've had enough time to get their *** together just yet. We'll see.

...and BSU is up 21-0 near half time as I type this...EDIT: Final: BSU 31--SDSU 14
Notice that the they lost to two team with not green turf. BTW: SDSU and BSU are both in the Mountain West Conf.

Whoa, Ohio State is absolutely wasting no time on murdering Nebraska... 56-14 so far in the 4th quarter.
I don't think Mike Riley is going to be around much longer with embarrassments like this. With this loss he's now 11-10 in conference play since he took the job in 2015. And they had another embarrassing loss at home to "Northern" Illinois earlier this year...Husker nation won't put up with this much longer. :(

Isn’t the MWC the conference that Air Force can be competitive in? :)

I guess the Huskies had to follow Wazzu's lead last night and drop one to Todd Graham's boys in the desert. Not a good college football weekend for the State of Washington. And the PAC-12 is getting a good shake-up (Maybe my Buffs can get back in it with the squeaker of a win over Oregon St. Lol). And what a weekend it was; high ranked undefeated teams dropping like flies. I think Bama is the only team right now that can just show up and be guaranteed a win...imagine that.

Competitive? I don't know about that. :)

I agree, what a weekend!
