leonardo paes , the winner of mtb pamnamerican, is supposed to go to coldeportes.
he is closing in these days and a definitive answer is coming at the end of the week.
paes is a very strong biker and he has proved to be very good uphill
next year he will prepare london olympics and then switch to road-

duarte is still in contact with coldeportes , but no decision taken yet.
he is probably interested in being the leader of an all national team with corti, but he has to wait few days until the end of the last attempt of gianetti and matxin to secure a new sponsor to the former geox. he probably has to see which program he can get in a PT team.

acqua&sapone says again, with the words of gini, one of the ds, that betancour is staying for sure with the team . he has a contract until 2013. no words from carlos yet . that his quite suspicious.

duarte at coldeportes, ardilla back in colombia(?)...so gianetti didn't find any sponsor after all

has nothing to do with that. ardila wants to go home and duarte was free to go and has always stated he would prefer to ride for a colombian team always

Is it 100% certain that Infantino's staying with EPM? Or is it still unclear as to whom he'll ride for next year?

Either Duarte has made a stupid career choice, or he didn't have offers from 3 WT teams.

fantastic news!
What's fantastic about it? It's a step back in his career. He'll be more comfortable in a Colombian team, of course, but it betrays a lack of ambition.

Agree. I don't know what Ryo is thinking. Any Duarte fan should be upset that hes not going to be riding any gts.

He will be 25 now, he should be putting in a good performance at a gt.

Whats he going to get? Challenge Valverde in Romandie? A stage in Pais Vasco. A stage in Dauphine?

I thought 1 of the reasons Henao moved to Sky is that he wanted to get more out of a season than coming 2nd to Levi in US Pro cycling challenge.

Duarte seems to be going in the other direction.

looking at the situation of the terrible crisis in cycling sponsorship, coldeportes is one of the stablest teams for now.uci loves coldeportes because uci loves colombians with money.also remember what prudhomme said last year about the invitations of 2012.
duarte will be fine if he'll go there.let's wait though

Or he is very confident that Coldeportes will get a Giro and possible Vuelta invite. :)
CEP and EPM-UNE weren't even close to getting an invite. There are precious few spots in the GTs. The Vuelta will surely invite Andalucía, 1t1AbominationofaName, Geox if they still exist, Euskaltel if they don't get into the WT, possibly Caja Rural. Where does Coldeportes fit in? They might have a shot at the Giro but even that is not a given.

if the things are going the same way, another 3 teams will cease to exist next year.that's what i said.
if coldeportes have the money, they will have plenty of races to enter.

epm-une and cep were not european based teams, you can't race like that in europe, they eat you alive.

Would love to see Caja Rural there though

What.

The same Giro who next year will have 1 less invite?

Aqua and Sapone, umm I think they will get an invite;) Androni obviously too. Colnago will probably get 1 too.

That leaves Farnese Vini. Ok they havent got the Italian Nat champion anymore but still should beat off a new Colombian team. And there are other teams waiting in the wings too.

Coledeporte should be in the Giro. But so long as teams like Greenedge, and good teams that laugh at the Giro and wouldnt send their c team to it, get automatic invites, unfortunately those that want to go, wont be allowed to.

Chances to get a wildcard for GTs for Coldeportes in next season
I assume Geox will fold.

Giro: 2%
Androni. Acqua e Sapone. Farnese Vini. Colnago. And we already have 22 teams, right? Two US ProConti teams, Skil-Shimano, Cofidis, Christina Watches (possibly). I can't see them in.

Tour: 1%
FDJ and AG2R will be both really likely in WT next year, so there will be 1 wildcard available (Cofidis, Europcar and Saur will get wildcards for sure). And well, I can't seeing Coldeportes beating Skil-Shimano with Kittel, Degenkolb and Geniez. And they are still teams like Bretagne-Schuller - and maybe even NetApp, Team Type 1 or UnitedHealthcare as well. No chance.

Vuelta: 5%
Andalucia and Cofidis will get it for sure, Caja Rujal most probably as well. Then there are Skil-Shimano and two americans ProConti teams as well. Well, almost no chance, but still probably the biggest they have for a GT..

No way, they were horrible this year, Bretagne-Schuller would be a better choice as you stated.

I don't Christina will be invited, I just don't see it happening.. Also, what makes you think 2 US ProConti teams will be go? They have the ToC to go to

Saur however horrible they were last year is still a stronger team from a sporting perspective.

saur will never ever kiss le tour.even aso guys were in face palm mode after july.

ok let's remember a little:
Prudhomme explained that this year’s wildcard selection was a product of the circumstances that saw France left with just one ProTeam, Ag2r-La Mondiale

“I hope the French teams find their place in the first 18 [World Tour] because it will become more complicated to give out invitations. If an Australian team knocks at the door, or a Columbian team, or a Kenyan team - we will look at that very closely, of course.''

http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/pru...-invitations-are-not-preserve-of-french-teams

i don't say it will happen for coldeportes but if corti will make a real team just like the last time they will enter in the big races no doubt.
still disappointed that they didn't sign infantino :(
