I agree mostly - they have zero chance of a Tour or Giro invite next year, although Prudhomme has said in the past that he would like a Colombian team in the 2013 Tour.Zaschrona said:Chances to get a wildcard for GTs for Coldeportes in next season
I assume Geox will fold.
Giro: 2%
Androni. Acqua e Sapone. Farnese Vini. Colnago. And we already have 22 teams, right? Two US ProConti teams, Skil-Shimano, Cofidis, Christina Watches (possibly). I can't see them in.
Tour: 1%
FDJ and AG2R will be both really likely in WT next year, so there will be 1 wildcard available (Cofidis, Europcar and Saur will get wildcards for sure). And well, I can't seeing Coldeportes beating Skil-Shimano with Kittel, Degenkolb and Geniez. And they are still teams like Bretagne-Schuller - and maybe even NetApp, Team Type 1 or UnitedHealthcare as well. No chance.
Vuelta: 5%
Andalucia and Cofidis will get it for sure, Caja Rujal most probably as well. Then there are Skil-Shimano and two americans ProConti teams as well. Well, almost no chance, but still probably the biggest they have for a GT..
hrotha said:CEP and EPM-UNE weren't even close to getting an invite. There are precious few spots in the GTs. The Vuelta will surely invite Andalucía, 1t1AbominationofaName, Geox if they still exist, Euskaltel if they don't get into the WT, possibly Caja Rural. Where does Coldeportes fit in? They might have a shot at the Giro but even that is not a given.
They weren't so bad this year, they were almost as good as Cofidis for example, way better than Katusha etc.. They were really active in breakaways (mainly Delaplace, Mangel, Jeandesboz) like every other French team and as well, their main leader - Jerome Coppel - was 14th overall. That's not bad IMO. Bretagne would were way worse than were Saur. No way ASO wouldn't invite a team with rising French star like Jerome Coppel. Bretagne has only small chances, they are like Saur without Coppel and Skil without Kittel/Degenkolb.Michielveedeebee said:No way, they were horrible this year, Bretagne-Schuller would be a better choice as you stated.
Michielveedeebee said:I don't Christina will be invited, I just don't see it happening.. Also, what makes you think 2 US ProConti teams will be go? They have the ToC to go to
Personally, I was really looking forward to seeing him fully fit in the Giro. Unless RCS completely changes policy, the Giro invites will go to Farnese, Colnago, A & S, and Androni, no?profff said:duarte will be the captain in all the races he enters.
corti has the chance and relations to get invites in 2012 and more in 2013.
he will bwe happy to run with colombians. that fits his mentality
if he will be healthy,we will see interesting things.

Bad news!coldeportes said:Fabio Duarte riding for Coldeportes in 2012 official.
I highly doubt it.Eric8-A said:Even without a GT invite next year, they'll probably make sure they're seen and get some good results to hopefully ensure a spot in either the Giro or the Vuelta. Alot of the riders from Coldeportes are fairly young. Like Duartista mentioned that CEP's best riders were young, a good percentage of Colderportes' riders come from CEP, so that might also play into them not getting an invite.
Surely Guardini, Pozzato and Gatto (who, as opposed to Visconti, actually won a stage) should be enough to get an invite.Libertine Seguros said:Depends, Farnese might struggle a bit with Visconti no longer there.

I doubt Duarte is that expensive.maltiv said:I had really hoped to see Duarte ride for Contador, that would have been complete carnage. Too bad about Bjarne Riis' money problems.
Libertine Seguros said:You'd think, but all it takes is one high profile injury or doping bust, and it's up in smoke. Gatto is a really entertaining rider and well worth watching - but he's not really one to bank on for an invite. He's more a Christophe Riblon than a Sandy Casar, shall we say.
That good compare to who? actually I think that after this year he proved that he is a good rider to have in the mountains. This was his first true year in Europe and he made some good development. I doubt that he did not have other offers after what he showed this year. But this is not the first time that he comes back to a Colombian team from Europe. So maybe he is one of those who suffers from being homesick. If that is correct then is too bad because that shows that he can be mentally weak.Ancares said:I think that the transfer to Coldeportes is a step backwards for Duarte if we think about next season. But it is definetely a step forward for the long-term. He wouldn't lead any WT team, and at Coldeportes he will. I don't know about the other offers he had, but if last winter he couldn't find anything better than Geox, why should he find it now? His season wasn't that good.
Probably they won't ride any GT next year, but for 2013 Corti will manage to make them a more appealing team than Colnago, Saur, Skil-Shimano or Caja Rural.

And I doubt he is that expensive. Seriously a rider like him is a good bargain for a pro-tour team.
