in fact it is difficult to understand the choice of leaving freddy montana in colombia. he can adapt well in europe and uphill he can turn the peloton upside down

i think if they have hired rafael infantino, fredy montana and alex cano, coldeportes could be a super team

duarte
atapuma
pena
laverde
cano
montana
osorio

exactly, especially infantino for the stage races with an itt in it.does anyone know why he refused them?money, fear of being homesick?

hoping osorio will prove us he's a big one after all the hype made by ryo:p

he refused because he likes to stay with raul mesa, only 1 rider is leaving epm and that is suarez. mesa is like riis quadrupple

So who may get the best results in stage races ? Expect those who already showed some potential in Europe. Parra ? Osorio ? Romero ? Or someone else ? I really hope that they will do much better than CEP. European scene really need some more Colombians in top races ;)

Fabio Duarte (Geox-TMC)
Wilson Marentes
Frank Osorio
Jarlinson Pantano (Colombia es Pasión)
Edwin Parra
Carlos Julián Quintero
Juan Pablo Suárez (EPM-UNE)

these are pretty allround, especially for itt and at a good level climbing. suarez already showed alot this year and that was first time he ever rode in europe

osorio I expect alot from in future. he is making incredible progress, and rode on a bike way too small for him, for many years, since with gw shimano has increased all and this year also his climbing. he is 188 and 80 kg so should be fine in europe

cep did very well if you saw the races but didn't get any results. the team was too young, inexperiences and had to many onesided riders. and a totally unexperiences management and team directors. it will be a lot better this year. cep were the 6th best team in colombia, we saw what better colombian teams like epm and gobernacion already did. this team should be strongest team in colombia expect epm

that I do agree with you 100%:) - Freddy is a raw jewel in need to be polished. He possesses the climbing skills to shake any GC rider in a race. I hope the exclusion has nothing to do with some regional preferences......

Is Ortega staying at EPM?

yes, as well as baez and beltran and parra and everyone else except suarez and javier gonzalez, who I forgot. but he hasn't been too succesful in past few seasons

looking from abroad, these strong regional rivalry seems a big limit for colombian cycling growth.
on the other hand, in the local scene the rivalry adds excitement to the race

yes it's aproblem that really hinders colombian cycling, especially in young talents. if you are from a smaller state you have very little chance of turning pro.

Doesn't say, which is weird. But it says he tested positive for something during a test at the Vuelta a Boyaca.

very strange. probably some bs product which means he will be free to ride next year but with boyaca orgullo america I suppose. coldeportes don't want any risks, same with cep last few years
