Is the medical staff also pure Columbian?

Mantovani and Pallini are indeed Medellin - names, my excuses.

It is as interesting as the 'kick Corti out of the team' rambles.

who cares where the medical staff is from, it's about the riders of course

Well, at least we have 3 riders in Colombia for training... Chalapud, Marentes and J.P.Suárez. I think their shape is awful as result of the "Trentino stage" (cold, no training, no riding,...), as example: in Clásica de Cómbita, Chalapud was 56th in the first 7 km clm stage, 2:17 from the first, behind of many "individual" (without team) riders... let's see if Duarte, Atapuma, Romero, Chaves, Rodríguez, Pantano,... return to Colombia for a good training weather.

finally atapuma, duarte and pantano are back to colombia for a two week period of altitude training to prepare for the giro.
chaves is already there trying to recover after his collarbone fracture.
they will be back in europe the 13rd of april

let's hope that corti is still in time to make his best guys able to shine in the giro.
at this moment, the season of duarte atapuma and of all the team has been awful-

...as a result of that their squad for GP Indurain on saturday looks like this:

CAMACHO Julio Alexis
CHALAPUD Robinson Eduardo
CORTI Marco
RODRIGUEZ Michael
ROMERO Jeffry Johan
SUAREZ Juan Pablo
OSPINA Dalivier
MARENTES Wilson Alexander

not much to expect I think, except if Suarez somehow managed to find some kind of form. Is Quintero back in colombia as well?

No, Quintero is in Route Adelie de Vitre tomorrow along with Duque. Chalapud will probably be their best rider in GP Mig.

It will be interesting to see how the 4-72 Colombia team (ex-Colombia es Pasion) goes in GP Mig and subsequent Spanish races (Rioja, Klasika Primavera, and Castilla-Leon).

Is Chaves back riding? I thought it was a little more serious than a simple collarbone break.

The results from this team are an embarrassment. I hope they do something good at the Giro otherwise some heads will have to come down.

are they going to Trentino?
Yes. I assume Atapuma will lead them there like last year. Chaves is not racing until Tour of Turkey, and Duarte will probably have to do Fleche Wallone.

Outside of the Baldy stage in Cali I can't remember too much else of what Atapuma has done since his Trentino win. Chaves if he was in the right condition probably could do something on that climb that the race organisers compare to Alpe d'Huez but other than that Turkey will probably be a sprint fest.

On a different note would they even have the budget to make the big signings in the future going forward? I didn't hear any link with Betancur and them before he joined AG2R. And similiarly could they compete with other team's offers if Henao decides to leave Sky at the end of the year when his contract expires?

thing is, changing key personnel mid season is probably not a good idea in any case.

Anyway hopefully Atapuma can give the team a morale booster before the giro.

(keep in mind RCS has not yet received the ok to field a bigger peloton in the Giro as of today)

On Atapuma, he was the team's best rider in the Vuelta a Colombia, and he did well in a Giro di Padania stage. He is only ever going to do well on longer climbs though. He's the only one who I am confident will do something in the Giro, as he recovers well and seems to get better the more he races.

On signings, the answer is no. There are good riders who they could sign such as Arredondo, Acevedo, Alex Cano who would strengthen the team. However, the main problem is that not only do most of the riders they sign not improve, many of them actually get worse.

+1. I second this. I like his consistency in the mountains. But they need better riders in the future. Need a lot of money to sign Henao and that might create conflicts within the team. Henao will be very valuable for any team next year.

Holy crap!!

This team sucks. We need changes soon. And I hope the changes are not too late if they make them. Duarte sucks big time now. Where is Atapuma.

Who is going to ride with this team now with these performances.

they are ridiculous. worst than last year. but they won't fire corti before the giro and after the gior no use. the season is lost unless chaves or duarte saves it. but whatever happens that idiot dinosaur corit needs to go and take that pathetic son with him. however I fear that after a giro failuru the whole project will be pulled anyway

Duarte claimed to be in good form as well... what a disaster. Chaves is still injured, it just remains to be seen if Atapuma has managed to get in shape. Otherwise the Giro could be embarassing.
