He made the time dillation mistake twice.
Funny mixup to make two times.
It's a great shame that Bay is no longer commentating (all) the biggest races.
Why would that even matter for a race that's available through TV2?

They must somehow like Mielke ...
Sean Kelly has been using that for years and it's a word more widely used in French than English.I don't know about you, but a new year of cycling wouldn't be complete without Chris Horner chiming in with his analysis and making up words to describe things like bonus seconds. It's "bonification" time, baby! Let's go!
Kelly's other great import to the language from French is "support" in the sense of "cope with": We may have to change our opinions about whether Evenepoel can support the cobbles.Sean Kelly has been using that for years and it's a word more widely used in French than English.
Just did and search and the Oxford English Dictionary reckons it has "Fewer than 0.01 occurrences per million words in modern written English"
Let;'s get it up to 0.02 before the end of the season!

....
Someone needs to be kind to Brian Smith and stop him from commentating, he's awful.
But the Merriam-Webster definition (and I strongly suspect the usage dating back to 1650s attested by OED) is "betterment of housing conditions and farming practices in a particular area"; was the cycling application of it in existence pre-Kelly?That's the word for it, "bonification" he didn't make it up.
It probably makes Hatch squirm when Sean Kelly says it without a French pronunciation. I'm sure he always says Par-is instead of Par-ee just to wind the resident linguist up.That's the word for it, "bonification" he didn't make it up.
Back in Sean's day the winnings went back into running family farms around Flanders, Ireland and France. But the Merriam-Webster definition (and I strongly suspect the usage dating back to 1650s attested by OED) is "betterment of housing conditions and farming practices in a particular area"; was the cycling application of it in existence pre-Kelly?
I find it alot easier mutedJose Been, just hard work to listen to.
I found a stream on YT that had all the noise of the race, sans comms. So much better.I find it alot easier muted![]()
When will commentators ever get the message to STFU about giving spoilers of same day cycle racing results?
Case in point... just finished watching final stage of Giro dAbruzzo (thankyou Tiz), when Ned Boulting tells me that Team ***'s day just got even better, after having had good result in an earlier finish of De Brabantse Pijl... Womens & Mens races I had lined up ready to watch.
Big mouth git.
Didn't Abruzzo finish before either version of BP?
So if Boulting could talk about the results of those races, he was probably commenting on a re-run/pre-recorded images, and - not unreasonable - assumed that people had already watched the BPs.
How long afterwards do you expect commentators to keep quiet about the results of other races? Would the person commentating AGR be expected - in your opinion - be allowed to talk about the result of BP?
The final stage finished after the women's race.
Ah, okay.
I do sometimes get a little confused about the exact order I watched races in on multi-race days such as Friday.
Link ?I found a stream on YT that had all the noise of the race, sans comms. So much better.
Boulting's spoiler wouldve actually ruined a mere 2 hour delayed viewing, let alone 2 days.Still, I wouldn't really bother to be angry about getting results spoiled if I decided to watch races two days later, which I would never do anyway.
Sorry about the delay replying, I was up and out most of yesterday,. The Reds were at Leicester, and so was I.Link ?
