Commentary on TNT and other WB brands

My special offer subscription finishes today but I cancelled it a few days ago before automatically renewing at the standard price. They sent me another offer of 25.99 pounds for 3 months but for only TNT Sports.
They didn't send me another offer after I cancelled my introductory deal, I'm offended haha!

I'm having a lot of success with VPN + SBS though, so I'll probably give that a go next year. I need to check what races they show though. They don't have the Canadian classics but I switched my VPN to Canada and found them on an official Youtube channel. So far, so good!

I've got a VPN because I've recently moved back to the UK from overseas (had it since the Eurosport Player days) and kept it since vodafone are blocking me from using Zwift but somehow changing the IP to another UK address works.

Your new "offer" might show up in an e-mail soon.

Upon reflection I may have been a trifle harsh on Hatch, last night I watched England France Womans Rugby World Cup Semi Final, that woman commentor was absolutel dire, crickey almighty, havnt a clue who is or i,d, tell you. Luckily I watched the Canada NZ game on RTE when we were on holiday so I was spared her.
Anyway i,ll not complain about Hatch , Orla and Matt for a while

Sara Orchard was the rugby commentator yesterday.

And they have changed the inefficient app for TV for one that doesn't have any way of indexing cycling content at all. Their disdain for customers continues to grow.
Also noticed that, whilst they still have 2 streams for each event, there are no graphics that would indicate which is the linear TV channel version with adverts and which is ad free.

The ad free ones just say 'TNT Sports', oposed to the linear TV ones which would have the channel number like 'TNT Sports 1'. But they are slowly getting rid of the add free options.

Yes, but they don't indicate the channel number, or lack of a channel number, on the new app. And their customer service :)laughing::laughing::laughing:) agents deny that there is any such thing as advertisement-free coverage of anything.

Screen message last night stating I needed to upgrade my subscription to watch sport.
Eventually recieved a email admitting their having issues. Now rectified.

That removing the ability to select specific sports is really frustrating.

So they (discovery+ in UK at least) didn't make the replay of Guangxi stage 1 available on demand, claiming that such were the broadcasting rights, yet there are the stage two highlights, promptly made available. So broadcast rights for stage one are sold on a different basis? I simply don't find that credible.

What was shown of stage 1 at the beginning of stage 2 broadcast was impossibly jumpy to watch: eventually they put up a "We are experiencing a technical issue" screen, and it was eventually better.

Who knew Hatch knew anything about cricket 🤔

that's right following in the legendary cricket comm box exploits of the likes of Benaud, Trueman, Arlott, Johnston,Greig, Willis, Boycott, Gower, Atherton...steps our Hatch into the Ashes cauldron of late night/early mornings, because they're not actually sending him to Oz, commentary.

Do the people who run Discovery even understand sport anymore ?

I've stayed up for the first away test twice in my life, the first in 2006, as a young lad fresh off the enthusiasm of 05, heart racing in anticipation, as Steve Harmison immediately lobs the biggest pie in the history of professional cricket.

The second in 2021. Starc to Rory Burns. First ball, behind the *** legs.

I was thinking about giving it another go this time around, but with the increased sub fee and average non-Nasser/Atherton lineup it's probably just going to be TMS in the early mornings as usual. Probably for the best.

Hatch at least seems bright enough, just be thankful it's not Carlton.

could be worse. I stayed up to watch the first three days of the 2011 ashes. Didn't bother with day 4...

Back when I had Sky sports, before it became unaffordable watched every series first session since 2002, yes that was the one Nasser chose to bowl first...

This series is crazy though first test is 2am, second test as day/night is 4am.

The thought of staying up to listen to Hatch witter on and default to stats because thats basically all he'll have to offer is not filling with me must do vibes at the moment.

Tbh id prefer Carlton, he did those late night Le Mans stints talking about nothing filling the time for hours with aplomb which is perfect cricket commentary

We're experimenting with exactly this problem at WiderTalk (https://www.widertalk.com/home) at the Tour of Guangxi this week.

The idea being that anyone can be a commentator (but the cream will rise to the top), commentators are encouraged to bring in guests as they see fit, and viewers are able to choose who they want to listen to. Viewers can engage with the commentators over chat.

We're only getting started but if you feel like it please join us at 630 AM in the morning (UK time)- the more the merrier! You can also watch it On Demand after.

Oh, and its free.

We would love to get your feedback.
