Agree, though he has no radio so probably doesn't know where his teammates are. With so few riders still in the race he can be forgiven for pushing on.

Loving this racing it is epic, wonder where all ones going on that Commonwealth race means nolthing? well say anyone pro tour would struggle with this tough race.

Like the Olympics though, it's being made by small team sizes. World Tour teams with 8 men each would be a different story; and yes there are a few small hills and attrition would play a role, but Cav won the British nationals on this course last year.

Weather + small teams + course that's tough enough to be selective but not so hilly it eliminates specialist rouleurs from contention = good spectacle.

Sending more than 1 rider back to rescue Renshaw was stupid. Consequently they were short handed or absent when the key moves were made.

They were also "wool gathering" when Pooley jumped. Cromwell had just made a hard pull on the front which excused her but Elvin made zero effort and left it to her team mate.
