Bauer and Thwaites are the reason why you shouldn't give up. They basically conceded gold and were worried about silver. If they kept going for it, they would be in gold medal contention.

That was an unexpectedly epic race. Approx 140 started. 12 finished. Drama right down to the last 10 minutes. What more could anyone want?

I assume he means cycling should be A to B, not circuit racing like Formula 1. I agree with him. Circuit racing is okay occasionally for WC and things like that, but for normal "Tours" of countries, it's not suitable and isn't what cycling is all about. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy today's race(s) of course But I don't want to see it in anywhere else other than the CG or WC.

It's quite clear Thomas was the strongest by far. Bauer wasn't soft-pedaling (not when Thomas went at least).

The BBC acts like Thomas has just won against a world class field... it was a great race though.
