Again, judging by this statement and by the fact that he knew of his positive test over a month, I come to the conclusion:

Contador must be really, really dumb.

/edit: Sorry, forgot to post the link:
http://www.wort.lu/wort/web/sport/a.../contador-dopingfaelle-sind-vergangenheit.php

That is a very illogical conclusion, maybe you are the one who doesn't really get whats behind those facts?. If Contador really said that knowing that he tested positive, then something else was going i.e. negotiations with UCI?

One way or the other, or beloved sport gets damaged once more :(

What I dont find believable at all is that Contador finds out Aug 24 and then can recall, in the middle of a GT when everyone is completely blown, the day before the TOurmalet, that he, that one night, had different beef, and none of the other five riders were tested and Vino had the fish, and blah blah blah.
Doesnt have the ring of veracity to me.
I would presume that most teams, trainers, or the rider themselves have accurate details of what they consume, both for plannings sake, as well as for the case of contamination

This news is not surprising. The guy should get 8 years especially with his track record with Puerto!!

AUssies should listen to SEN 1116 as ACF94 has broken the story in Australian media.

You are clearly either an immature pre-pubescent or deranged. If you're 25 then I'm Julia Gillard.

the question is: does the meat riders eat in hotels have more credibility that another any meat? NO!

I think professionals don't take any risks but in meat-deal, the business is a bit complicated, isn't?

If scientifically exists the possibility of contamination in such small doses by eating caw meat then Contador should have the benefit of the doubt.

I guess sambuterol is not in fish, milk, fruits, vegetables, cereals... but in meat.

The first question that struck me when the news broke is "How can it take this long for it to be announced ?" - 10 weeks from the sample date (5 weeks to complete the testing and inform Contador, another 5 weeks to inform the world)

And the investigation apparently is ongoing

Is this really how long it takes from +ve sample to (provisional) suspension ?

Are there any more +ves to come from the Tour ?

The teensiest, tiniest amount of a PED but an absolutely enormous lie to explain it away. If Contador had just appeared bewildered I might have believed him. Instead he comes up with this convoluted bunch of ar$e.

Funny that a Spanish pro-cycling impresario should offer himself up as the guy who rushed halfway across western Europe with the tragically contaminated meat. I know - maybe he had a motorbike with refrigerated panniers!

Funnier still to imagine the yellow jersey eagerly chowing down on it. 'Hey, chef, where's my 109.3 grams of pasta?' 'Well, Berti, as you're winning the Tour de France and it's a big mountain stage tomorrow, we thought we'd abruptly abandon our painstakingly micro-managed dietary regime and fry you up a big steak some bloke just brought over from Spain.'

Cobblers.

I won a dinner for two at the lobster cave but you can believe what you want.

Why haven't there been so many other positives with pros eating this "clen meat"? Why would AC take the meat and eat it from some place in Spain when he in Pau and knows that the eat has clen in it? Why would he get meat all the way from Spain? Surely the meat wouldn't be too good after all that travel in the car unless he had a eski?

Let's assume it was from contaminated meat.

What is an appropriate penalty?

Had this been some random rider from Texas, I'm guessing it would have be two years no questions just GTFO.

This seems like a case where six months from when the infraction occurred and stripping his results, but not his prize money might be appropriate.

Bottom line is I hope they don't let this drag on and on like Flandis.

Conclusions

1) The found concentration of CLENBUTEROL in the urine sample of Mr. Contador is extremely low.

2) It is extremely likely and would be only fair to regard the scenario of accidental intake low amounts of CLENBUTEROL by meat consumption.

3) WADA-accredited laboratories should not report CLENBUTEROL below 10% (1/10th) of its MRPL of 2 ng/mL, i.e. 0.2 ng/mL (= 200 pg/mL) as being a `fair and reasonable` concentration for an Adverse Analytical Finding of CLENBUTEROL.

from the report of Dr Douwe de Boer, which can be read, in english, here

On top of this, if the steak was cooked, isn't there a good chance the contaminate would have been 'burned off'?

I have a friend in the meat business. He said that the steriods used to grow the cows faster gets 'cooked out' when the meat is cooked. So ingesting steriods through meat consumption isn't really possible. BUT he did say that he will only allow his girls to have organic milk.

Several of his other teammates ate the food (not Vino), but only he and Vino were tested on those days. Also, from what little I have read from the Google, cooking the meat does not reduce the level of contamination.

I don't care if you "won" something by texting in a news story that frankly shouldn't be worth 16+++++++++ threads when there's a WC on. The fact that doing makes you seem like a cretin is irrelevant. I got sick after 2 pages of reading your vitriolic logorrhea. Do you talk like you post? If you did you'd be in a loony bin. There's absolutely no need for it the jibes and capitals and immaturity. It unfortunately detracts from any point (be it valid or not) you make.

What, no such thing as a cooler in Australia?

That's just how ACF is. Don't take it personally. Every court needs a jester and ACF fills that role nicely.

I don't think Alberto knows where the tiny fraction of clen comes from. I guess he thinks that coming up with the whole meat thing is slightly better than saying "I don't know where it came from".

Does anyone think this is a bit weird - no positives at all in the TdF for 2 years and then the biggest one of them all gets caught. Nobody else has had miniscule trace amounts of this or that in their bloodstream?

it got released now, one reason could be to give Riss a chance to give someone else a contract?

Someone leaked it and UCI gave Conti the chance to hold a press conference, otherwise it might never have made the public domain.

another is UCI politics, which is a cess pit and throw any allegation into it no matter how preposterous and you'll likely hit something.

New details in the Contador saga point to the ultimate culprit in all this. Apparently, the Spanish meat was marinated in Jack Daniels.

Its funny to think of some cat smuggling tainted Spanish beef into France to feed AC. If it were my choice I would take Spain with French cows.
