He'll get off. There's plausible deniability.

In a few years we will find out about an anonymous contribution to the UCI.

The UCI hasn't the balls to let numero uno go down and take a PT team with him.

an athlete is responsible for what they intake. contamination or not, if his b sample comes back positiive he's gone

He's as guilty as landis. he tested positive 1 day before the all important hilltop finish on the Tourmalet. he bonks there he loses the tour. He may well have thought he could get away with it as he's already been tested alot by this stage, he may have thought he'd be passed over on the rest day, who knows...

Not that I believe the whole food contamination thing but what does it matter who your chef is if the meat you buy has the stuff in it? Are they going to test every food product they feed him?

Did he get food that no one else on the team got? If there was shared food, why didn't the teammates test positive too?

Yep. Honestly, I find the news that Contador has tested positive to be quite possibly the least surprising news I have ever read in cycling.

I'm surprised Navarro didn't trip a positive first, thats my only surprise in this story. Thats still shocking to me, the way he was setting tempo on those climbs was insane. Plus he had all that trouble when he was in Jane's Addiction.

It doesnt make sense that he would take an easily found substance during the race. I dont buy his story but this is too stupid even for spanish riders.

Now that hes busted think he might blow the whistle on his astana team and those blood bags that have seemed to disappear? Maybe even go back to puerto?

Well, then I appear to be the stupid one. Not the first time for that.

Well done TFF,
I am always deeply impressed by somebody who will stand up and acknowledge they were wrong on a point rather than try to deflect by opening a diversionary argument on a semantic point.

Chapeau! :)

I stand corrected, I have heard the term bute around gyms. I know its popular with big, loud and annoying gym rats. You have cred!

Thanks. This forum has civility. And, many other fine attributes. I must admit I am still learning about the doping culture, and would prefer not to need to. Hopefully, the sport will become clean.

Amazing. He has known this for a month already. It's a shame.

I think I've read somewhere AC said recently that the lack of positives in the Tour was proff cycling was cleaner. What a thing to say after being informed he tested positive.

If it wasn't true, it would be really funny.

This is crucial if they found that on some flat stage there might be some little chance i would buy he`s story, but this way, NO!!!

couldn't happen to a nicer guy

A positive test for Contador should mean a suspension. Pistoolero hearts must be breaking all over CN nation.

This thread has been highly entertaining. Gives the clinic a nice variety.

My favorite moments so far:

It's shame Schlecklet will back into his first TDF win. I was sure he had a real one coming (and probably still does).

As for AC, can he possibly be that stupid? It has to have been from a transfusion with tainted blood.

Shhhh, let the fact that cyclingnews is an Australian based website hang out there. I am enjoying the quiet satisfaction in letting him look stupid without cluing him into the obvious...

Is this true? I always assumed CN was US based given the number of LA followers/haters. And US based advertising links.

And didn't need this post to make ACF look a bit intellectually questionable, sometimes Im ashamed to call myself an Aussie cycling fan when I read his posts.

I believe we have already have a thread on Red Lobster over in the General section of the forum. Maybe you could take your off topic restaurant excitement over there.

You are wright.

Yep what a stupid mistake from me. Tourmalet. Wow what an oversight.

So now that we have established that, what about a grand conspiracy on the part of Schleck. He knows he cant beat Conti in the tt. He knows Contador is joining Riis and he hates Riis. How to solve all your problems Andy.

Heres how....

So Python, what were the levels in the blood test? And what is the typical Cmax following a standard therapeutic dose? What is the T1/2 of clenbuterol, and what is the clearance route for Clenbuterol? Is it metabolized in packed/stored blood or is it cleared by the kidney or liver?

Clearly, you know so much, can you please post all of this information so we can partake of your vast scientific/pharmacokinetic expertise?

Also, can you please post your CV so we can understand how much relevant experience you have in clinical testing?
if you ask so many questions and yet posted a far-fetched theory w/o ever qualifying it with the said questions you expect being taken seriously ? is it again a 'devils advocate' re the 99 samples conspiracy talking ?

Wow, some people who post on a Cycling Forum said I am intellectually questionable! Wow, I am just cut. They know me so well to make a judgement like that.
