We've all heard the rumours regarding Cofidis, but back in the 50s there actually was a French team of bloodsuckers in the peloton.

I do wish PCS would stop having those "previews", with no way of getting the rest of the text. "The main riders on the team this season were, and."
And what?

In this case, they don't actually have a list of the team's riders, despite the fact that they do have some of its results.

I'm afraid we'll need to close this thread, as we have a clear winner now: Gabriel Muller felt it's time to turn into a Turkish "cycling champion" and changed his name to Mehmet Şampiyonbisiklet

Changing nationality; that has happened a couple of times
Changing your whole name? pretty sure that's never happened before.
Also, when did it happen? He was in TdL until, well... today! Pretty sure PCS had him listed as French, with his old name on the startlists originally.
And how the heck did he come up with that name?

Well, the name means champion of cycling, how do you think he came up with it?

It's pretty common for athletes that receive Turkish citizenship to also get new Turkish names. The Nigerian footballer Uche Okechukwu, who played for Brøndby in the 90s, became Deniz Uygar, for instance.

If Bond man/person had been a thing, then Yuhi Todome sounds like the sort of name Ian Fleming or his successors would have come up with.
