It's only natural that team disappeared. Improvements in bike technology and shorter stages led to them being held exclusively during day time, so vampire teams were forced out of the sport.

And despite Javier Guillen's best efforts to include them again in the sport, doesn't look like there's much demand for that nowadays.

It's pretty common for athletes that receive Turkish citizenship to also get new Turkish names. The Nigerian footballer Uche Okechukwu, who played for Brøndby in the 90s, became Deniz Uygar, for instance.
