Aha. So the city of cycling is not worthy a World Championship. Records were set wednesday with the amount of spectators and the TT in the middle of the city is quite unique. Sure, the road race course is not very demanding but to say that a small country like Denmark, and yet has so much influence in the sport, in not worthy is just stupidity.
Denmark is worthy, Copenhagen is not. Unless there are some hills nearby the city or some small twisty roads that I'm not aware of. And if so, they should have used them.
A flat WC is unforgivable. Sprinters should get a chance, I agree, but does that mean the race needs to be flat with 0 real hills? NO! Last year the sprinters had a chance and a sprinter won. So don't give me that ****ty argument that sprinters deserve a chance too. In fact, sprinters get plenty of chances. As long as they aren't one trick ponies.
As for the time trial. I didn't see a unique city. In fact, I though Copenhagen was a more beautiful city. It looked quite dull during the time trial. I certainly didn't see a city of cycling.
