I hope for everyone’s sake Biden’s administration can put a stop to this madness. What price do you put on a short term loss of personal freedom and liberty?

As has been pointed out before first come the cases then the deaths. Headed for 400,000 US cases in a single day I am not looking forward to the updates in the weeks to come. This has gone way beyond the “P” word. For everyone’s sake I hope you are right and Biden’s administration can right the ship. But I am not 100% confident.

Also a reminder in the country of origin of this scourge they are still under tight restrictions right across the country. China isn’t out of the woods yet either forget what the sanitised news says.

First time that 7 day average mortality is over 3k per day. All of this surge was needless. We knew this was going to happen in the fall, but a lot of people wanted to live in a phony reality. Denial is not just a river in Egypt.

If you can’t see a difference between Governor’s keeping vaccination from those who want it for reasons even the dumbest among us (DiBlasio) saw right through AND many freaked out citizens in a population denying reality.... then you can’t.

It goes to seeing the BLM/Antifa Protests as ’safe’ and necessary while political rally’s were full-on crazy. It’s the same thinking and it’s lame.

Ya, I’m old enough to remember when Cuomo said New Your would need 60,000 ventilators. Remember that one? So what happened? Yep, defense production act produced tens of thousands. Low and behold NY didn’t need more than they had. Also turns out using ventilators ad hoc early on was not the best thing to do. Probably killed a bunch that otherwise would have survived.

Well, I mean, if Fauci is confused then, ya know...

Rewind everybody involved and you’ll find all sorts of interesting things to criticize. But the thing that gets me is how you are able to function with the size of your blinders. Herculean, really.

Chris we obviously don't know each other. Our internet insights are semi revealing but often irrelevant as we search to one up one another. I truly believe that many things in your frame of reference are shared,believed,beloved by millions of Americans.
Hillary, Obama,Cuomo, Newsome,or Pelosi all have a long list of easily accessible f-ck ups during the pandemic. The pandemic and the Presidency are far from over. On January 20th, decisions that were made months ago,as well as decisions made on the 19th of January by President Trump will have needlessly killed Americans and harmed America and our way of life.
I have thought each day about the pandemic as my worries primarily are for my friends and family,the people I love. It takes a long time for me to begin processing what the pandemic means to my future,our future,the future of our country.
I watched a video recently posted by of all people Arnold Schwarzenegger,I was floored to see a guy who speaks such poor English, in the past has exercised such poor judgement both personal and professional, express to the public the spirit of America. I watched and I stood corrected, Arnold may not know how to speak,but he knows how to think American and about her people.
Chris, there really is only one important question about the pandemic and President Trump,
did he do everything in his power to help America and Americans defend against and defeat the Covid-19 deadly crisis?
Whatever you answer will reveal much more about you, than illuminate anything about President Trump. As I rant about almost daily..look what he did today instead of fighting the virus, the instead of helping,caring about others. I doubt the internet expounded wisdom back and forth will amount to any change in us.
History will write about this, dates of discovery,actions or inaction afterwards, just a little sincerity,a shred of honesty, processing Trump's actions on behalf of the United States and her citizens is a reason for deep regret in my opinion.

I would say you’ll get the same answer as asking if Obama did everything he could to right the economy and provide a foundation for job creation during his terms.

I tried to be specific, and I did it in good faith..and I was specific about Obama as per your example..Barack Obama has not been to the White House during the Presidency of Donald Trump. We Obama has also had nothing to do with President Trump' pandemic response or planning. Neither Obama, or their daughters have not offered any advice on the pandemic to President Trump before or during the pandemic to my understanding.
And as I tried to politely point out..Obama's actions on the economy before President Trump took office do not have anything to do with President Trump and his actions towards Covid-19 infections,deaths and overall strategy.
President Trump is responsible for actions during his presidency,not previous presidents.
The question is still out there about President Trump ,has he done everything he could for his country and it's people? No possible,logical answer has anything to do with previous President Obama

Again with the equivocation rather than a direct answer. The answer is: Trump has been focused on Trump and little else to the detriment of almost all issues. His acolytes, like Gov DeSantis in FLA continue their idiotic approach to managing vaccine distribution. DeSantis response about the impact of the NCAA Football title game, allowing 14,000 fans traveling from Alabama and Ohio and occurring in the same stadium as the massive effort at injections: "they (the vaccine distribution team) might have to close a little early." In the city of Miami...

As for the economy, the same one DT claimed would absolutely tank if he weren't elected; it has continued the recovery that started during the Recession based on policies enacted by Obama and leaders of every other country. Basically: do no harm and the cycle of recovery will occur. I've said before that we like to assume our leaders have much control over our economic well being. They don't as long as they don't do anything totally stupid as it is a truly Global economic game. Stupid things: 1)Trying to lessen emission controls on vehicles (the manufacturers don't want it, aren't doing it) 2) the promotion of the coal industry by lessening emission and clean water controls (no one wants the coal, China and India are literally choking on their air and trying to get cleaner and are now the 1st and 3rd largest solar power producers. The US is number 2, which should give you and idea of it's value) 3) The derision of the Clean Water Act using absurdly exaggerated personal prejudices like having to flush the toilet "14 times" and low shower head water pressure (who does Trump get his plumbing fixtures from?). 4).....the things could be endless.

Unless it fits in with the fixated and continued effort to minimize the work of America's first Black President. Trump's entire political career, shaped by such characters as Roy Cohn and Roger Stone, has been rooted on attacking Obama. I overheard the racist declarations in polite Seattle the day he was elected. It's about that.

Being wrong at the time ,making decisions w the cards in your hand is not crazy, it's all you can do.

Somebody here wrote this very recently. See, this doesn’t apply to everyone, now does it? Again, it’s rhetorical. And it’s also a big, big part of what’s wrong with our Country at the moment so congrats, I guess, for being the opposite of a solution.

The hoped for release of data from the J&J vaccine for the 1 dose phase 3 trial is supposed to be mid January. So this week would be the early part of when they are hoping to release some of the data. Hopefully it has some good numbers as it being 1 dose it could really help speed up things. They are apparently also doing a 2 dose phase 3 trial, but that info won't be available for awhile yet.

Here in Slovakia is quite a big scandal today because Dominika Cibulkova( tennis fans will know) and her husband cut in line for vaccination. It was not promo thing she did it secretly but somebody told the newspapers.

Countries with far fewer resources, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Suriname, process samples more quickly than the United States does.

"It's pathetic," said Dr. Peter Hotez, a virologist at Baylor College of Medicine.

The median number of days from the time a sample is collected from a patient's nose until the time its genetic sequence is posted on GISAID, an independent data sharing initiative, is 85 days, according an analysis of GISAID data by the Broad Institute of Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

"By the time you wait (85) days, a sequence can go from being a rare variant to being half of the circulating virus in a population," Hotez said.
