What are your points expectations per rider from the Tour? My guess is about 100 per rider so having about 10 riders I'm expecting 1000 points. Not sure if I'm being reasonable.

It's hard to say. My Tour team right now looks like this:

Vaitkus
Quinziato
Galimzyanov
Cunego
Boonen
Chavanel
Navardauskas???
Vandevelde
Gerrans
Uran
Wiggins

So we have one clear sprinter who can get points from stages here and there but that can easily end at 5 points here and 10 points there without any big scores.

Then there are various stage hunters that are really hard to predict anything from. What is Boonens ambitions for example. Will he sprint? Go in breaks? Just show up for the lulz?

There are a couple GC riders with Cunego and Wiggins being the ones that have the most outspoken ambitions. Perhaps they together with Uran and Vandevelde can reach 400 points on GC. The rest will have to settle for 20 points for finishing (if they do infact finish).

Overall I think I would be happy to get over 700-800 points. Everything above that is a bonus. Things can change quickly however if a rider finds themself in hte yellow jersey after stage 2. I predict that whoever has the jersey then will keep it until the first MTF which is stage 12.

No expectations, but you never know? Hopefully one of the GC guys gets into yellow early and milks a few hundred points.

BOONEN Tom
CAVENDISH Mark
CIOLEK Gerald
CUNEGO Damiano
EISEL Bernhard
O'GRADY Stuart
VANDE VELDE Christian
WIGGINS Bradley

Cavendish should be worth a few points as well.

My TDF team:

Cavendish - several points to expect, maybe even a green jersey?
Boonen - won't participate in every mass sprint, but why does he line up if not?
Taaramäe - a top20 GC is all to hope for
Wiggins - stage 20 top3 and a top15 GC
Galimzyanov - several top10 stages to expect
Quinziato - workhorse for Evans, might get his chance on a stage or two
Gerrans - 3-4 stages with finishes that suits him
Vande Velde - a top10 GC in reach
Kashechkin - hard to tell
Jeanneson - a lucky break?

Hmmm...not as prominent as I hoped for....

More riders than I thought I'd have:

RENSHAW Mark
VELITS Peter
VENTOSO ALBERDI Francisco Jose
KOLOBNEV Alexandr
VANDE VELDE Christian
KREUZIGER Roman
GERRANS Simon
DANIELSON Tom

Possibility of same stage wins there, doubt any of the climbers will do overly well GC wise (maybe top 20 for 3 of them).

My Tour Team

Bookwalter - working for Evans
Evans - team leader going for GC
Moinard - working for Evans
Morabito - working for Evans
Quinziato - Working for evans
Vandevelde - possible top 10
Renshaw - leadout for Cav though could get some placings throughout the tour.
OGrady - working for Schleck

UNless some guys can get stage wins, Evans and Vandevelde better do well or I am screwed as this needs to be a race where I score and make up some points on everyone else.

Points expectations

Boonen - nothing
Cunego - I see everything between top 10 on GC with a stage and outside of top 30 with nothing and the latter is more likely
Chavanel - hopefully he'll go for stages, I can even see him scoring the most points in the Tour from my team
Gusev - nothing
Morabito - nothing
Boom - finish second in the TTT behind Shack
Posthuma - finish fourth in the TTT, will probably get dropped anyway
VandeVelde - keep it on the road and finish top 20
Navarro - nothing
Vaitkus - nothing
Willems - finish fifth in the TTT, will probably get dropped anyway

4 team leaders and 7 helpers. A poor point score won't be surprising. Hopefully they all can get to Paris otherwise it would look pretty bad, lol.

Galimzyanov - I expect him to feature regularly in the top 10 in sprint finishes
Bole - some stages suit him but realistically he'll do nothing but work for Petacchi
Oss - I expect nothing from him
Terpstra - he'll get in several breakaways, he could always hit jackpot in one of them
Gesink - I need him to podium or something
Navarro - nothing
Poels - he hasn't shown a lot of form in the past few months. I don't expect him to do better than a top 35 or thereabouts

I suspect I'm not going to improve my ranking at the Tour. On the bright side, several of my non-GC, non-sprinter riders, the ones who have to rely on a bit of luck to score big points at a GT, should do well in Austria or something and save some race days for later in the season.

Rigoberto Urán
Simon Gerrans
Matthew Goss

TDF riders and expectations:
Navarro = nothing
Vande Velde = top20
Roche = top20
*Gadret = top20
*Taaramae = top20
Cunego = top20
... + 1 stage from any of them
Renshaw = nothing
*Goss = 1 stage

The askterisked guys I think were quite unique picks so I'm counting on them!

In terms of points:
Points from top20's ~440
Stages ~160
Finishing ~ 160
Tota ~ 760!

Not expecting much
WIGGINS Bradley Lower reaches of the top 10
CUNEGO Damiano Lower reaches of the top 15
URAN Rigoberto Loses any chance of points in service of Wiggins
GERRANS Simon Loses any chance of points in service of Wiggins
PORTE Richie Loses any chance of points in service of Contador
ROJAS Jose Joaquin Will get 4th in several sprint finishes
BOLE Grega Might get 4th if there is a stage Rojas could win
BOZIC Borut Might get 4th if there is a stage that Bole could win

Why did I bother turning up...

7. Bumeington 6510
8. Waterloo 6498
9. Bicing 6477
10. AAC1983 6471

Sine we haven't had an official update this week I thought I'd post an unofficial top 10:

1. ingsve 8037
2. LukeSchmid 7256
3. Pcutter 7154
4. Handbrake 7112
5. The Hitch 7035
6. theyoungest 6890
7. Waterloo Sunrise 6889
8. Bumeington 6882
9. AAC1983 6868
10. Gotland 6683

Waterloo Sunrise moves from 8th to 7th and AAC1983 and Gotland move past Bicing who drops to 11th.

More importantly we also have the first player to move above the coveted 7500 point mark, me (ingsve). It seems fitting that it happens right around the halfway point of the season.

Vladimir Efimkin is going to race with his brother at Team Type 1. Good news for those like myself who thought they had wasted 20 points on him. I might get rewarded for my mistake of thinking he had signed with them last year when it was his brother

Also thanks for the update Ingsve

I have 15 riders...but plenty of workers and expect around 800 points.

Burghardt - working for Evans
Boonen / Ciolek / Steegmans - between then may get some top 5's but who?
Boom - TTT
Cunego - 15th - 20th
Gerrans - working for Wiggo. Will he be allowed to hunt for a stage win?
Gusev - working for Kolobnev
Lofkvist - working for Wiggo
Popyvych - working for the Americans
Renshaw - Hopefully no headbutts this year. May sneak a top 5 result and TTT
Uran Uran -working for Wiggo
Vaitkus - working for Vino - may get top 30
Vandevelde - may get top 20 but will team focus too much on the sprints?
Wiggo - lower end of top 10

An exciting time ahead for those teams with Cavendish in their squad with I think Bumeington the only one on the top 10 to have him. I might have to instruct Renshaw to spoil his party.:p

Tour de France

Andre Greipel

Juan Manuel Garate

Christian Vandevelde

Dave Zabriskie

Andreas Kloden

Nicolas Roche

Gerald Ciolek

George Hincapie

I feel pretty good about my team

Not much happened the past week in the ranking:

ingsve 8123
LukeSchmid 7267
Pcutter 7184
Handbrake 7149
The Hitch 7051
Waterloo Sunrise 6941
theyoungest 6935
Bumeington 6920
AAC1983 6894
Gotland 6756

Waterloo Sunrise overtook theyoungest. Other than that nothing happened to the top 10. Most of the points gained during the week was from the first two stages of the Tour.

This current week will of course be dominated by the Tour but also Tour of Austria but I don't think there are that many picks at all competing in Tour of Qinghai Lake.

I'm still going pretty good. Havn't scored anything big, but I'm surprised that Vandevelde hasn't been taken out from any of the crashed. Also happy that Roche and Klodi have stayed out of trouble since I'm hoping they'll give me the big points once the race goes up and finishes.
