Update 38

Wow, what a quiet week. Nothing happened in the top 18 at all! Pretty crazy.

The most interesting thing happening this week is probably henry_olonga and deValtos scoring minus points! For some reason Gorka Izagirre had 267 points last week but only 262 points this week - does anyone know what happened?

I don't know why he went backwards but I guess he might have been given 5 points for finishing a race which he didn't finish.

Probably, yeah. I was kinda worried that something had screwed up because originally henry_olonga was listed at minus a lot more points, but I then realized that one of his riders, Egoitz Garcia Etxegibel, had changed name for some reason (from Etxeguibel) which sorted out a lot.

Only Gorka Izagirre was then in minus, but I guess you're right that he probably just got points for a race he shouldn't have.

There are old fixes done all time time it seems. If you look through the posts in the info-center there might be something there perhaps http://cqranking.actieforum.com/. I once noticed an error in a year 2000 result, that was fixed, that even moved Erik Dekker up that years overall ranking.

No, not exciting. Lay off...

you probably didnt enjoy Degenkolb's 2nd on Monday and Vigano's 4th today (both on Waterloo Sunrise's team).

Now EBH says he has finished his season, ive got no chance to catch either of you and will struggle to hold on to 3rd.

No, I didn't like those results. Also of the riders that are still racing this season that I have several Waterloo Sunrise also has like Bos, Löfkvist, Uran and Dowsett.

I'll have to hope Cunego or Sivtsov wins Beijing or something.

When are you guys going to close down this game? Japan Cup on October 23 2011 is the last race listed on CQ website. Is that the last race of the season or are there any other races before the end of the year?

Japan Cup. btw, are you the actual guy who runs the CQ ranking?

The game doesn't end untill december 31.

However, as Japan Cup is the last, hmm, "interesting" race on the calendar (at least for this game), it's very hard to see major changes being made after Japan Cup, so whoever is on top there probably wins unless the margin is small.

There are some races after Japan Cup but only minor 1.2, 2.2 and NC4 races.

I think we need to set the deadline for an "official" point list for next year based on the last rankings in November.

I know they don't change much after that... but they CAN change. When picking next year's team we need a date where we lock in the costs of riders.

Yeah, that'll just be before the first race of 2012 is riden.

Yeah......
It should be earlier. Aus nats occur during the 1st week of Jan. When can we start submitting teams? There is only going to be some very minor races which won't effect the prices of the pro riders. Stop it after the Japan Cup.

At the risk of being controversial next year i reckon after December 1st we end the competition, even if races are to come.

Still I think the deadline should be December 31st this year.

Well, there's nothing holding anyone back from sending in their teams earlier.

Theoretically the game ends when the season is over. That's logical.

However, once the thread for the new game has been created (which it will be way before the season ends) you can start sending in teams.
Practically that is possible even though the season isn't over yet because only small races are still to be riden.

Then if anyone send in a team which value exceeds whatever we chose as the maximum because one of his riders all of a sudden wins a lot of small races, he can just make changes to his team.
