Strange it worked for me.

Anyway, I have at least gotten around 40 points, and now I only need about 7450 points more, or else I'll be banned, at least that what some of the members seem to want:(

;):p

Also the amount of points Microdose had is amazing, and I am amazed ACF did not end higher, probably ahs less Australian riders than I expected

The guys who I had competing were tim roe, leigh howard, mark renshaw & Sutton. I am kind of regretting some of my selections now, have a feeling some of the riders won't get as many opportunities for their teams.

It didn't work for me either and i really don't feel like downloading a toolbar.

Anyway I just checked my team and it turns out I don't have any Australian riders. But I expect to score heavily in the Dutch nationals:)

How many of those are Australian?

Sagan was the highest ranked first year espoir on CQ, and the junior MTB world champion, as well as the runner-up at the junior cyclocross world championships... that could have prompted some to pick him. Do we have a neo pro like that this year? There aren't many kids with that kind of palmares.
THats my point. Unlikely to find another Sagan this year.

will10 said:
Phinney is certainly someone with a very impressive junior background - I'm not saying he will, but he could have a Sagan-esque early season.

As mentioned earlier, some neo will rock up and have a blinding couple of months, no doubt.
Phinney could but he costs way more than Sagan did then. And i dont think hell win as much as Sagan did. But with BMC in need of a team leader (for races Cuddles wont ride), i saw him as a neccesary pick. Hopefully he does a lot of races and can ratch up points from tts, sprints and a jersey or 2.

Thanks for pointing that out. I checked my team on my own spreadsheet that I made before sending in my final team. My laptop has since crashed with the new team on it. Most of my documents are backups from my USB stick. Also I noticed I have a lot less Dutch riders then I thought I did. I was convinced I had Boom, but I do recall I thought he was rather expensive and he is not in the team I send in. With the team I did send in I recall mentioning I was going to win the contest because I didn't let myself be guided by chauvinism. Otherwise I certainly would've had Boom and Gesink. 82 points is that any good so far? I've only seen the top ten.

ACF is a traitor to his country for not having enough Australian riders!
Is it me or is Wiggins_fan team rubbish? probably would be a better cross country ski team than cycle racing. :p

Oh, I didn't see that team. I guess I might have to change my prediction of no one ending up with less tham 7500 points or else Wiggins_fan will get banned from the forums. Then again the team only costs 3292 so I could just change the prediction to that no one will earn less points than their team cost.

58th position! You guys all must of had bobridge, gerro and goss! I am feeling miserable about my chances already in this game!
Haha, I'm ahead of ACF, when the only available result is the Aussie nationals. Whodda thunk. I feel a winning season coming up.

BTW, don't you have Gerrans on your team? He seems a good pick, especially for an Aussie cycling fan.

I got 7 points for the Australian Benjamin King, yet the Ben King on my team is the US rider (Cost 149 CQ points) . Hey, I dont mind getting points for both of those guys :D

Doesn't work for me either. It either re-directs to a russian/ukranian women site or wants me to download an run an executable, which I'm certainly not doing.

Are you clicking the right link? You should not click the link that says "Download 2shared toolbar" but instead the link in tiny text above it that says "Save file to your PC: click here"

No it wont.

Are people actually under the impression that they will find another Sagan?

Well even if you did, and an increase from 84 to 929 in a youngster is very rare, but if you did, I think this 1000 point increase will be absorbed by the collective power of the guys i listed. There are just too many riders this year who had low Cq scores but tons of potential for very high ones. TOo many. 1 Sagan, even 2 sagans(unrealistic) or for the sake of argument 3, i think will be absorbed.

Meanwhile the rest of your youngsters are getting a stage opportunity here, a break there, and finishing races. Not really increasing much on their totals.
I'm not saying that I have the new Sagan but I am petty sure someone has him and I would be very surprised not to see that person on the podium.

And even a Keukeleire (about 500 points increase) will turn out more profitable than a Deignan (even if he repeats his 2009 Vuelta, which he won't) or a Vande Velde.

And youngsters scoring 500 points increase is not unusual : Ladagnous (2008 to 2009), R. Feillu (2006 to 2007), Porte (2009 to 2010), C. Pineau (2009 to 2010), Mollema (2009 to 2010), Pardilla (2009 to 2010), Fuglsang (2008 to 2009), Hoogerland (2008 to 2009), Le Lay (2008 to 2009), El Farès (2008 to 2009) to name a few (mostly french because I know them best).

In the meantime, how many dopers score this kind of increase : Basso, Ventoso, Petacchi, Scarponi, Vinokourov, Ricco. All were and are stars that present more guarantees than the dopers coming back this year except Schumacher (which interestingly had a 800 points increase in 2006), Rebellin (which had a 1000 points increase in 1999), Di Luca (which had 1000 points variations from one season to another quite frequently) and Pellizoti IMO.

As for youngsters scoring 1000 points increase these last years we had Haussler (2009), Boassen Hagen (2009), Greipel (2008), Ricco (2007), Kashechkin (2006), Samuel Sanchez Gonzalez (2006), history is bound to repeat itself and I insist that youngsters, not dopers will win this game.
