Thankfully a better week after a lean patch!

Some decent points from Soler, Cunego, Di Luca, Wiggins, Matthews, Wurf.......

And still hoping for a result from Ciolek!

Update 22

ingsve is really starting to back up his claim that he is the future winner of this game. With more than 500 points to Pcutter - who jumps 8 places this week - in second place, he has managed to create a nice gap. Only one new face enters the top 10 this week: Waterloo Sunrise who has been jumping in and out of the top 10 the last couple of weeks. Bicing is the one who gives way as he moves from 4th to 11th.

Once again we have a few high jumpers this week. nobilis moves from 46th to 28th, sublimit from 42nd to 23rd and Kwibus from 37th to 19th. Meanwhile MADRAZO, Jakob747 and Sydney21 all lose 10 places in the leaderboard.

Top 10:

1. (1) ingsve - 6955
2. (10) Pcutter - 6390
3. (2) Lukeschmid - 6377
4. (8) The Hitch - 6350
5. (6) Handbrake - 6342
6. (3) Bumeington - 6334
7. (12) Waterloo Sunrise - 6228
8. (5) theyoungest - 6225
9. (9) Parrulo - 6045
10 (7) AAC1983 - 5991

I thought it would be fun to see how things are going in the other end of the leaderboard so for the first time I'll list the buttom 10 as well - mainly because I'm not to be found there myself :D

79. (77) Libertine Seguros - 4060
79. (78) Arnout - 4060
81. (83) will10 - 4005
82. (79) whittashau - 3863
83. (80) Rocksteady - 3852
84. (85) sigsky - 3700
85. (86) hrotha - 3382
86. (84) Team Sky Fans - 3369
87. (87) Vonn Brinkmann - 3131
88. (88) Wiggins_fan - 791

Yeah I think that, besides you, the only ones in the top who don't have Soler are Waterloo Sunrise and LukeSchmid.

On a very different note, I decided to figure out how much activity this thread has lost since the establishment of this new sub-forum.

Since the forum was created on may 6, there has been an average of 3.15 posts in this thread per day.
Previous to that, from december 8 to may 6, there was an average of 15 posts in this thread per day.

Of course it was expected that the level of activity would decline a bit during the season because the "news" factor wouldn't be there anymore, but still I think it's safe to say that the creation of this sub-forum has killed the game to some degree.

Sad but true :(

I'll help your egocentric character out by saying you're the best Hitch! Nobody could ever dream to be as smart or as intelligent as you!;)

Thanks to Wigo I moved up to 13th. (my previous highest)

Hopefully he can deliver some more unexpected points from the Tour as well ...

I would never imagine that I would actually like this guy :D

Ey, my season has long been in the crapper.

Plaza got injured, I wasted a whole bunch of money on Breschel forgetting he'd just undergone surgery, Geox didn't get a Tour invite, and 2 of my riders tested positive.

Saddest of all, however, is that Xavier Tondó was one of my leaders, so it's hard to give a damn about a fantasy cycling team.

That's why you don't pick Spanish riders;)

I have Ciolek and he's been a total bust.

Agree... he's only going marginally better than two of my other selections... Matthew Lloyd and Alberto Loddo... ones retired and ones having a gap year? :D

Given the apparent seriousness of his injury (fractured skull), I'm guessing you wish you didn't post that right now.

I hate this new subforum. I really wish this were back where it was.

That being said, I did take a look today and I've found my team has started performing fairly well.

I've only got 3 zero-point riders now. Pelizotti, Lloyd and Sicard. 12 of my 30 riders are in positive territory on the season.

My big winners so far:
Degenkolb (316%)
Seeldrayers (312%)
Talansky (242%)
Vandevelde (200%)

My biggest worries about potential large point losses:
-Lloyd (-206... don't think I'm getting any of that back)
-Phinney (-180... early season problems cost him a lot of point opportunities, even if he somehow gets things together I don't think he can make that up)
-Keukeleire (-337... got a lot of early season points last year but didn't this year. Going to be a big loser I think)
-Ciolek (-288... not seeing where those points would come from)
-Chicchi (-192... another guy who did well in the early season last year but not this year)

Still... I'm happy. Only 235 points from the top 10. I won't contest the overall win I'm sure, but if I manage a top 10 I'll consider that a big win.

I know there's the main competition with whoever has the highest score at the end winning.
But, it just dawned on me maybe it would've been a good idea for a consolation competition in CQ of who gets the most riders that have improved since on last year's scores. Kind of like a polka dot to the main competition's yellow jersey.

Think it would be interesting, as someone could just have a lot of riders scraping past last year's score, but be penalised in the main competition by one or two riders who have been caught for doping or massively underperformed.

Just when it seemed like Soler was back on top, bad luck struck him once more.

I do hope he gets out of this OK.

nice idea, I'd like to see some sort of consolation prize next year.
Maybe we could do a yellow (main comp), your idea (Polka) and some sort of Green (maybe most wins from 33 riders)?

This game has been epic. And looks likely to be big next season also.

---

If Kruijswijk and Ten Dam can stay in the top 6 and 1 gets podium it could be enough to get me in the top 10. I hope :p

YYYEEAAAHHH! Back in the top 20 again. Well again... I was there only once.

Too bad I lost Soler once again. Best wishes to him.
