At this point of the year I mostly get annoyed when riders I've targeted for next year scores points so that they get more expensive and not as good bargains anymore.

Exactly. I just hope Breschel and Rogers don't go up in price. I doubt Rogers will. Maybe Breschel can boost his scored during the Vuelta and the worlds. They're two riders I'm targeting for next season.

Update ?

After quite a while away from the game, I'm back with the updates. A lot has happened since my last update, so I'm just gonna present the latest top 10. A total of 27 teams have now surpassed the 7500 mark with ingsve leading the troops. With a lead of 1125 points to second place Waterloo Sunrise, the self proclaimed future winner of the game indeed seem to be a future winner.

Top 10:

1. ingsve - 9827
2. Waterloo Sunrise - 8702
3. LukeSchmid - 8654
3. theyoungest - 8654
5. Handbrake - 8478
5. Bumeington - 8478
7. mc_mountain - 8469
8. The Hitch - 8319
9. Ham-N-Eggs - 8303
10. Sneekes - 8270

I at least want to get 7500.

The Eneco tour's going good for me. Phinney winning the prologue and earining 23 points for wearing the leaders jersey and his top 10 today along with Greipel's two stage wins.

Yeah, me too. Let's call this the test version ;) - of course nothing should be taken from who ever the winner will be!
Next year will be a lot better with no teams revealed before deadline - that unfortunately took a little from the game this year. Hopefully I'll do better next year too - haven't been following cycling that long but my knowledge is growing every day :)

I'll just have to think about how to "reveal" my team next year, so that everyone knows that I haven't been cheating by looking at others teams..

Ya, next year will be intersting, People will probably have learnt a few lessons from this year so there will probably be more teams of a higher standard once they see what works and what doesn't work from this year. If we manage to keep the teams secret then we might see and even bigger spread in the teams eventhough the spread was pretty good this year as well.

I've certainly benefited from having an more rigid anti-doping stance than a lot of other teams by not choosing riders like Ricco and Pellizzotti. But I've also been lucky in that I've avoided the riders have have been out due to injury etc. I think pretty much all of my riders have been active most of the year.

The Vuelta will certainly be a race I'm worried about with regards to people catching up. I do have a good team for the Vuelta but I think some others have even better teams in terms of GC with more potential.

My vuelta team as it stands now:

Quinziato
Cobo
Blanco
Duarte
Duran
Sivtsov
Kashechkin
Kessiakoff
Boonen
Chavanel
Nuyens
Arvesen
Löfkvist
Wiggins
Haussler

Well, it has a lot of riders that will be domestiques and things like that. I'm mostly worried about a few teams that have Igor Anton who can be a very big scorer if he has a good Vuelta.

Bumeington for example has:

Anton
Cavendish
Blanco
Boonen
Chavanel
Cobo
Duarte
Haussler
Kashechkin
Degenkolb
Sivtsov
Seeldraeyers
Talansky

Also a very nice team that is guaranteed to gets lots of points from Cavendish and could potentially do very well in GC as well.

Well, I'm a bit of a pessimist at times and you tend to get paranoid when you're in the lead. Even if there are a lot of riders starting I only think that a few of them are potential point scorers. I have 4 of Geox domestiques but they still have Menchov and Sastre as leaders so my guys won't get that much room to score. Quinziato, Arvesen, Nuyens, Löfkvist and Haussler won't really score that much either. For Sivtsov it depends on who is in better shape of him and Velits. That leaves Wiggins, Kashechkin and Kessiakoff as GC riders and Boonen and Chavanel as jokers but none of those are sure things.

Vuelta team not the greatest:

Cobo
Kessiakoff
Kashechkin
Lofkvist
Haussler
Talansky
Boonen
Arvesen
Sivstov

Mind you, it could go well. I can hope for a high finish from one of the Astana guys (although I have serious questions about Kash since he has NO racing in him), and Sivstov is solid top 20... Cobo and Lofkvist could also finish that high in support roles, but maybe not. Talansky is insanely talented, but I think he's just too young. We'll see, I need alot to go my way.

Oh well, I've been steadily working my way up from mid-pack, and 21st is respectable enough, if it doesn't get any better than that.

My team (according to that list):

Van Den Broeck
Wiggins
Haussler
Duarte
Degenkolb
Seeldrayers
Mollema
Talansky
Phinney
Cobo

Honestly... if VDB does well it could be a big boost for me. He's not a rider picked by a lot of people.

It's not completely out of the question to get three top 10s with that team. It will be interseting to see who is strongest of Mollema and Kruiswijk in the Vuelta.
