Aaron with both

That is great.

I'm sure it'll be a massive and necessary financial boost for ZCU if all of them play and of course it's great for cricketing reasons as well. There's a very small chance that it may be telecast live here if there's nothing else but it's unlikely.

Another wicket for Aaron, completely undeserved 3 wickets.

Bad tactics from both team, WI should have declared earlier and India way too defensive.

WI all for 590.

In the Australia 'A' v NZ FC match, Brendon McCullum has gone out and blasted 146 off 115 balls.

Any idea how the pitch is playing?

I would say it's pretty flat (as the RR listed on cricinfo was at a staggering 4.86 per over).

Here is Aus 'A' batsman Nic Maddinson (who got a ton on FC debut):

Looks like he is 15.

He's not much older than 15 to be fair to him. I saw Nic Maddinson on the tele play his first or second ODD match (we don't get Shield matches), his talent was clear from the start. He scored a 50 in the match, I think versus SA.

If it was at North Sydney Oval than it isn't heard to smash a 6 there. I would say it's easier to hit a 6 there then it is hit a 3 in the outfield. It's a great place to view a match there, but the pitch is a road and it is a postage stmp size ground.

Adelaide Oval, also a road and very small square of the pitch but not as bad as North Sydney. Just checked, it was his debut ODD.

Probably a picture from an underage World Cup. Should be a reasonable player, but struggling so far this season.

I am so happy to have discovered this ( being a big fan of cricket )
My thoughts on our bowling situation/ other things.

If Harris is injured they should bring in Copeland and if Wade goes well for Australia A Haddin should get dropped ( if only as a scapegoat ). It's looking increasingly likely that Ponting will play a farewell against NZ and maybe even against India.

Other options to replace Harris and maybe even Siddle who is in my view too one dimensional and has maybe lost some of his aggression are :
James Pattinson
Ben Cutting
Mitchell Starc ( took quite a few wickets at the Gabba )
Josh Hazelwood
Trent Copeland
and in my view i think Mitchell Marsh should be introduced if only because he is an all rounder and is much more talented than Steve Smith though he can't bowl spin but good 130 kph or so.
Hilfenhaus might also impress and he's good in Australia bowling. He would also be good in that Johnson and Cummins can bowl aggressively in short spells, whilst Hilfy can bowl long spells and has great swing.
If Bollinger had not injured a shoulder i would say also bring him in as he is more aggressive than Siddle.

Johnson usually goes well against NZ as they hit out a lot. He's still the fastest bowler in our team and India has no bowler who consistently bowls above 145km ( Sharma used to ) but not anymore.

I'm hoping Warner can step up in the Australia A Tour and that Cutting/ Hilfenhaus and Wade all get in for Siddle and Haddin.

Maddinson has not gone that bad this year. He's pure class.

RIP to Peter Roebuck.

India will not beat WI. Dhoni is good as a batter but his side has way too much talent to boss around. Still he is a good captain but does not know how to set fields. Roach to get 4 wickets in this innings is my prediction.

Yes, it is an underage match but won't be a world cup as sponsors aren't allowed on shirts in ICC events.

Gambhir should've been caught.

Greenedge-
I think Pattinson and Cutting could be test quality in the future but they haven't shown enough yet to be Test players. I think it'll be a 4 man attack against NZ- Johnson (if fit), Siddle, Cummins, Lyon.
Roach has been dropped from the first team.

Edit:Bishoo's gone to the hospital. Hope he hasn't done any ligament/tendon damage after that slide.

I think Watson may play as just a batsman, he didn't seem overly uncomfortable when he fielded. If it's a major emergency, then why not Mitch Marsh. A good bowler and Tom Moody rates him as a batting all rounder. Just a thought.

Totally agree with the Mitch Marsh. He should also get some exposure in some 1 days though maybe but he is a good viable option.

Also thanks for that @ rajambunath. I have not been reading the sport papers as of late as i have had exams. ( also why was he dropped? )

Dont like these matches where both sides get 500 or 600 and the match runs out of time. Maybe someone can do something tomorrow but i doubt it.

Very true, but I'd say that it was stupid of the BCCI to play a test in a stadium which hasn't hosted a FC game for three years. It's normally a rank turner but the groundsman stated that he was careful to ensure 5 days of cricket, which resulted in a pretty bad pitch.

NZ ended up with 423 with Doug Bracewell hitting a cameo 73* off 79 balls, and even Chris Martin hit a 4! It's going to be interesting what the Australian team will be like as Watson won't be able to bowl in Brisbane, Cummings has a sore heel, and concerns over the fitness of Johnson and Harris.

FTR ramjam, Aus 'A' won the toss and actually sent NZ in on an overcast day and the bowlers didn't leave a good impression in front of the selectors.

Martin boundary:eek:

423 against a team acclimatising to conditions, not great signs for the back up. Shows how much further the youngsters need to go. I'm pretty sure Harris won''t play, it's too much of a risk to rush in a fast bowler into the team. It's fair to say, that the selectors have to earn their money for the first test.

Edit: Laxman gone, bad shot.

It's confirmed, Watson, Marsh, Harris, Cummings, and Johnson have been ruled out for the 1st Test. I'd rather Australia pick a one-off in Chris Rogers who is comming off a 118 for WA against Tasmania in their just completed Shield match, but they'll pick Dave Warner.

Ouch, problems for Australia. This has to be New Zealand's big chance to beat Australia. Got to feel sorry for Australia, all the top bowlers gone.

Siddle
Lyon
if fit-Bollinger/Pattinson
Starc/Cutting
either way, it's very inexperienced and seems weak.
what's your bowling line up?

Edit: Tendulkar gone for 94. Misses out again on 100th international 100.

Yeah but Warner came off good performances in Zimbabwe and has been in the Australian team for a year or so now. Rogers should have been picked younger.

Bollinger has a sore shoulder and could not play the last game/ go to Aus A.

I have to slot Siddle in if only because he would be our only experienced bowler.
Lyon
Pattinson/ Cutting ( i would pick Cutting who has been in better form ). Also
Starc is better than Pattinson at the moment and they are both tall. Starc is also left-armed.
M.Marsh for anyone Watson maybe. Otherwise Warner.
Might have to consider Hilfy if only to just tie down NZ while our young attack gets tired.

Wade will replace Haddin in my view.
