Just posted a response but the connection lapsed and had to write again, so here's a very brief response.

First, Harbhajan overstepped the mark, way too far. ******* either referred to Symonds as a mother****er (or a swear word derived from that) or a monkey. Both not acceptable.

Second, while that poster's funny, I wouldn't laugh (chuckled but not laughed) as Anil (mispronounced as A-nal) is one of my favourite all time players for India and he was a proper role model for youngsters.

Finally, I don't think Australian fans can be precious about behaviour as it's a well known fact that Australian players themselves aren't known for immaculate etiquette on the pitch and racist comments have been made in the past (notably against Murali by Lehmann).

just to clarify, I'm not one of those over defensive fans who can't stand when their country's players are on the wrong and I dislike a lot of the Indian players today (past page and earlier here).

Edit:
i hope they get some posters for Harbhajan and Yuvraj, that would be brilliant.

Yes I agree about Kumble, very much up in my top 10 favorite players and yes I do realise Aus players are very guilty of incidents themselves and I in no way condone them. I just thought being here among cricket fans and that incident being hopefully water under the bridge now that I could recount an anecdote.... And I sincerely apologize if I have in anyway insulted you or Anil Kumble (yes I know it is said differently, I say it A nil) as that was never my intention.

I have a question for you (or anyone).... you may have heard of the 12 th man albums. A guy who is very good at doing voices that sound the same as the channel 9 commentators here in Aus and he ends up putting them in ridiculous situations. Do you have anything like that? Is there anything like that anywhere else in the world?

Don't worry, I'm not offended at all. It takes more than a cricket match to offend and I state again that I found the poster funny and in a bent way witty. I myself should apologise if my previous post seemed an outburst.

No, I haven't heard 12th man and mocking Gavaskar in India, complete no no. It's quite irritating really that there isn't much humour here in cricket. Have you seen Swanny's ashes diary, it's brilliant and not very in your face to Australia as well.

Edit: I have to add, with regards to my previous post, Indian fans can't be precious about behaviour as well after what they did to Symonds in Mumbai (sickening monkey chants at him) and our players are *** as well (wrote this earlier but connection lapsed and then forgot).

Here is the impersonator/satirists Wikipedia page

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Twelfth_Man

Basically gets them into comical situations and takes the Mickey out of them. Focuses on Richie Benaud, Bill Lawry, and Tony Greig and a few of the other commentators.

Also no I haven't seen Swanny's diary but it sounds like something I should be asking the family for, for christmas. Cheers for the recommendation.

Kohli - can't stand him as I find him incredibly annoying and arrogant, but I think he has got great potential.

When Dravid, Tendulkar, and Laxman all retire - and it's fairly likely to be at roughly the same time, India are going to struggle big time imo. Not convinced by Raina at all, Kohli's got potential but needs nurturing alongside Dravid.

As for their bowlers, remember during the England series this summer a commentator saying that because the pitches are so lifeless in the sub-continent, there's no incentive to become a quick bowler as opposed to a spinner for example.

12th man is hilarious - can be found on youtube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRhuuPTiWOI (and lots of other clips as well)
Got to love Blowers as well (for any TMS listeners) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5kAIfrCUgc

Don't think Raina will last much longer in the team, Pujara will come in ahead of him in the future in my opinion.

As you say, pitches are another massive reason for lack of fast bowling but Pakistan have some seriously lifeless pitches and they have always produced some fine quicks.

Thanks for the links.

Pretty much on the mark, the batting will seriously suffer after the retirements of Dravid, Laxman and Tendulkar. They surely should be preparing themselves for an Australia like exodus and with the knowledge of what can happen should be preparing the next generation for proper test cricket. That doesn't seem to be happening and ODIs are definitely not the breeding ground for test match players.

As for the bowling, Nehra is a permanent crock, Pathan has lost all pace, Harbhajan doesn't have anywhere near the same guile as prior to 2020, Kumble was never going to be replaced and Zaheer's the only good bowler remaining. Although I'd like to add that Ojha and Ashwin seem a good twosome.

The problem I see that is that the Indian selectors should properly tap the big three on the shoulder and ask for them to consider their future so you can gradually bring in the new guys to replace them so you don't have Dravis, SRT, and VVS all going at once, but if this happened especially to a guy like SRT, I feel the selectors will be safer in Somalia instead.

Sharma has deserved that wicket.

I also see BJ Watling has scored a timely 150 in his FC match against Otago, but I don't want him in the XI against Australia unless injury hits, I just think he has some problems against real pace, Ryan Harris has looked way to quick for him when Australia toured NZ last year.

What a useless field from Dhoni for Bravo. Few catchers and one saving a single and one midway:confused:

Powell's got good footwork against the spinners. Very good but a tad reckless so far.

Spinners always kill me in stick cricket.

Treat watching WI bat so well and all the players are very young, very nice.
