India go to lunch at 3/243 which aside from the loss of Gambhir they really couldn't have asked for anything better. Don't want to jinx VVS and SRT as watching them in full flow is a treat to watch.

big wicket.

these 2 must survive if they want anything from this match.

Australia deserve to win this tho, I think they should comfortably in the end.

Things that can beat India in tests

Not sure what the second one means? Unless you are suggesting that opposing teams should bat with three tree trunks to defend rather than three stumps?

Some good tail-end biffing going on now :)

I'm suggesting that the team's so inept that a log could beat them. Though thy analogy is quite nice as well.

They've been this sh!te for a while now, just touring tougher teams now. Last year India were saying they were good away from home because they beat New Zealand.

Zaheer's gone. Bog with the catch.

Looks like this one is gonna end pretty early and on a wicket that only yesterday looked lifeless:confused:

@Ramjam I have a question for you. I have been listening to the ABC Grandstand commentary whilst i am at work and they pronounce Laxman more like Latchman. What is the proper way for his name?

It's Lak-sh-man. They're still closer than what most other commentary teams manage.

Grandstand on Internet or radio? I've been trying for 3 days to avoid the armpits commentator Shastri (notice his sweating?) but have been stuck with him cos I can't get a link.

Ashwin's better than Dhoni and Coaly put together.

Thanks for that. On the radio i've been listening at work. About Shastri...well tbh ive not noticed that much really because Aus and India only play every few years so guess that is not enough to get on my nerves.

And Ashwin....yes he is playing beautifully at the moment. And as i am writing this has just played a beautiful late cut past Hussy at point for four. And a few overs ago he hit a straight onside-ish six that went 94m. Seems in control at the crease IMO

Pattinson is out for the rest of the series with a stress fracture in his foot, but the selectors were going to rest him anyway.

These days, with all the injuries they suffer, a team must have 6-7 good "test " fast bowlers.
What are your options now? The kid who took a bunch of wickets in South Africa is also injured, isn't he?
You might have to fall back on Johnson:eek:

What is Cummins's injury and how long is he out for does anyone know? The next test is at the WACA isn't it? Picking Johnson wouldn't be the worst idea... ;)

Johnson won't be fit anytime soon. Likely that Starc will come in for Pattinson and they will rotate Lyon for Harris.

Johnson:eek:
As Norah Batty would say to Compo- Don't kid yourself. It's not just an idea, it's the worst idea in the world.
As Craig says, Rhino and that lucky b*****d Koo should be in the team. That's if Rhino can bowl more than three overs without injuring himself.

A 'good workout' according to Cricinfo, but from 90-6 at lunch to 281ao? With all due respect to the Associate players, England should have rolled them for 150 from that position, although I imagine a flattish pitch and the ball going soft might have had something to do with it... Still, should be some good batting time tomorrow for the top order hopefully.
