Great to see BMC so aggressive today, with Gilbert trying to get away first, then a second successful attack by cadel, coppel and kash.

How big of an insult is it that he says girls are drama queen? It's just his opinion, and he has freedom of speech and such. It's not that being a drama queen is criminal...

I still don't get why this legend is still around. Evans is one of the most aggressive riders in the peloton. The only times he looks conservative is in the tour (besides last year) and that's because it is impossible to attack when there are clearly stronger climbers with you.

I meant THIS aggressive.
He rarely attacks so hard on these preparation races and descents.

That was a great win by evans. I thought he would surely get beaten to the line by coppel who was just sitting on at the end and not helping. That group of three held off quite a few teams who were trying to bring them back. That was pretty intense. It certainly shows that evans is ready to go for the hilly stages at the tour.

1 man was on the front for 30 seconds then drifted back. That is not trying to close the gap when you have others available.

Your rose colored glasses are a bit foggy. They didn't have the legs to close...actually, nobody did.

Cadel showing why he was crowned last year. Andy... the shot of Andy was difficult to see, a calm walk under the sun while other get an epic win.

Very impressive win for Cadel Evans. The haters
will not be happy with that. Not happy at all.

I don't think there are that many Evans hater anymore. Perceptions change when the subject changes its style. The hate of the past was deserved, especially considering his riding now. The praise now is also deserved.

And there were two men on the front for more than a minute...they just didn't have the legs or the testicular fortitude. Sucks, but them's is the facts.

and on a side note.
WTF WAS THAT ANDY!

He got dropped at the very beginning of the climb. Holy crap that was awful. He was probably complaining to vino about bruyneel too.

Still he will get his magical form come July.

I wouldn't call myself an Evans fan, but that was a very impressive way to win a stage, especially in a prep race, the contrast to Andy couldn't be more stark.

Lol no, they definitely wanted them to go away to get yellow. Sky had 5 in that small peleton and didnt use any from 3km onwards  ;)

That was a really impressive win. It's odd to think that Evans is the same rider who was a widely derided talented underachiever for years and years.

I think he has to be considered a pretty clear favourite for the Tour this year. The parcours is perfect for riders with the talent set of an Evans, Menchov or Wiggins, and any of them plus a few more could conceivably win, but Evans is the one who has shown the ability to actually close the deal in important races over the last few years.

Now lets just hope that Sanchez and Martin are alright. It would really suck to lose one of the Tour favourites and the rider most likely to attack on every Tour climb in one stage of a warm up race.

Seriously quite surprised by cadel's attack today, thought he would have waited for the harder stages.

Very nice stage, hope we get more of that in the coming days. Nice victory for Cadel, just hope Sammie hasn't broken anything or any other serious injuries.

You see, that's just lazy ad hominem.

Sky finished with 7 men in the front group. If you want to believe they were busting a gut to close the gap, feel free, but it wasn't shown on the TV screens.

In PN and Romandie they entered every climb at the front. Today the sat in the pack and did nothing. It was a noticable change of approach; I can only presume some sort of scenario practice, but rather odd nontheless.
