Neither was Cadel last year. One of the favourites? Sure. But Hesjedal was labelled as an outside shot of a favourite too

Nah , don't buy that at all. Rujano was thought to be a better bet than Hesjedal and where did he finish. An outside shot of a favourite - wtf - you either are or not. Cadel was a favourite in TDF '11 Hesjedal was NOT a favourite in Giro '12. If Hesjedal wins this years TDF - wonder how many People on this forum will suddenly hate his Canadian / Norwegian *** ?!??!!

I see what your saying. Just to put it into simple terms. Before Cadel won last year. With the exception of our antipodean brothers, Cadel was disregarded as someone who will not win the tour and is generally ****. Then he won the tour. Andy was and still is given so much **** on this forum it's unbelieveable. Wiggins is clear favourite this year yet the forum suddenly hate him or at least hate his supporters.

Crazy. And it is the veteran bloggers of this forum that are the most naive.:)

- "Forum doesn't like winners"

- Evans more popular on forum after winning

- Ah but "in simple terms": Evans unpopular before winning Tour, Andy always unpopular, never won Tour.

- Implying next Tour winner always unpopular, but point to Schleck who is unpopular yet will not in your view win Tour.

- Why.

Bert as overwhelming favourite for many recent GTs was never disliked by the forum despite his clinic issues. What people don't like is smug ( :) ) often nationalistic fans that show up for July and talk exclusively about their homeboy.
