He has sat up. But was a good effort which might have succeded had the profile been more normal in the end (i.e. a descent after the climb)

He tried in a descent in Le Tour 2013 and sadly he crashed.

Today he tried and took 1 min on the firest descent. Had there been a 2nd descend after that climb he would have made it

Kelderman looking quite comfortable, would be cool if he tries an attack. Surely the Sky domestiques will be tired now.

Without the last flat flat part from the top of the climb, he wouldn't have needed to drag the Vichot group with him for help on the flat. And he looked pretty untroubled all the way to the top

Had there been a descent after that climb maybe Sky would have reacted with more urgency to the first attack...

You can't just take one thing out of the context of this race and apply it directly to an alternative one.

They reacted with all the urgency they had. No need to understate what they did.

Contador didn't even get to the second chase group? I think we've been GPS bamboozled guys.

This guy is the biggest danger for Sky (Froome) when in slight form.

If Katusha continues this in the mountains in the TdF, they will be fun to follow with Purito, Spilak, Trofimov, and Silin (if they're all riding?)

100% there wasn't more than 30s there. I even think that they had visual most of the time, that's why was no panic. If truly it was one minute and a half, than Contador climbed like a stone.

But if he does it like that all the time without gaining anything, he will be cooked after week 2 and Froome and Brailsford will do nothing but laugh. He has to make attacks stick when it matters.

Today was all about trolling them a bit though.
