Idk isn't that the usual Geraint style, he's crap at the races leading up to the Tour and then he wins it or is second.

Like when he was so crap that he won Dauphiné in 2018 after having been the strongest in both Algarve and Tirreno as well, where he lost due to bad luck (and in the former, very liberal team tactics)?

Really happy on dumo’s progression.

as stated elsewhere JV best not sacrifice him for Roglic.

After winning the TDF on the final TT he should then head to giro. With Remco out and all that TT... he would crush the field.

Thomas is an embarrasment on the Tour de France palmares

With all the drug fueled winners of the Tour either lauded on podiums or by media or banished to edges of the sport and Geraint Thomas is the embarrassment ?

FFS such a ridiculous and pathetic comment

Thomas is not in shape yet but at least he is a natural talent and lack of form is not always about lack of training ...ask Uran

Yes with the amount of power Jumbo Visma has they could spread it around all the Grand Tours, instead of going for the Movistar patented "The three amigos" route.

Awesome finish... I'm in love!!!

The french National Team together was a piece of beauty, Sivakov with a lot of sacrifice, Pogacar and Martinez giving a show and Tibopino giving everything...
I share these feelings as well.

The race was great today without the Ineos/Jumbo trains.

It would surely take a miracle for him to podium again this year based on what we have witnessed the last couple of weeks. While he was first and second in the last two editions, and he knows how to prepare, it appears like he is not mentally ready this year.

So this was the best guess regarding Froome and others, pre-Dauphine on the Tour de L'Ain thread August 9:

The Tour starts in two weeks....Unless Froome is planning a stealth assault on the Tour and is sitting on form we are seeing what we'll see.
Geraint and Bernal can certainly move up a bit as well. Dumoulin and Bennett can as well so there is that for Jumbo. There will be other animators, crash victims and bonkers to make this Tour exciting!

It wasn't difficult to project some of it but there was more crashing and aggression than most of us expected. Is it possible everyone is so antsy that the same craziness will creep into the early Tour?
