Great win by Wout, after a difficult climb as well.
That was a great attack by Uran though previously, it seemed he gained a huge amount of road in just a second or two.

Missed this. What happened with GT and Froome? Also, I see references to attacks from Roglic, Pogacar, Uran, etc., but WvA won. Did the climbers try and fail to break the peloton, resulting in a bunch finish? Or is WvA just a monster who stayed with the climbers?

To easy for who? Roglic nearly won a bunch sprint in Ceyzeriat if not for Bagioli.

There he was trying to prove his form, plus he was THE sprinter for the team. Now he is sure of his form and he knows bonus seconds probably won't matter in the end. Plus, Van Aert was the chosen man for the day. And Roglič was on duty to make sure no one got away (that is why he went after Uran). Tom and Steven had a job of leading out in the last kilometer. A really well executed tactic once again. And another win.

GT s.t., Froome again weak.

And yes, the climbers failed to break the peloton but the last ascend was not really that steep.

Froomey and his buddy seemed to be so involved in some conversation they dropped off the peloton for some privacy.

Van Aert monstered up the climb on the front of the peloton mostly, he didn't just "keep up".

Lutsenko looked pretty quick before the last turn, but got kind of cut off when WvA took the turn.

Wow, 56 in front group and Froome 5:23 back. It's hard to imagine that was him sitting up to save his legs. Sure reads like his body didn't cooperate.

Van Aert is what Sagan used to be a few years back but with a killer instinct. A peak Sagan should have been there today contending for the win with Van Aert and Impey for sure.
At the moment Sagan is not at a peak... don´t know if he will be in form for the tour..
Bora had only Buchmann in the final group of 56 riders. Don´t know if Großschartner, Mühlberger and Kämna saved their energy or if it was really weekness.

I wouldn't read too much into anyone's performances in regard to a 3 week GT. Who know's where they are currently at in their training blocks etc. Such a weird situation.

I think so too. He knows he doesn't have the form to win here and he would be risking a crash in a finish like this. He would be more useful in the stages to come.
He dropped to the back of the Peleton, tried to move up but didn't have it and then called it a day. He'll need to perform over the next few days to get his tour place.
