Bertie better stay in the top 50, so we could at least see him in the TT (he is right at the bottom of the group at 1.09). The last rider departs at 15.50 CET and I presume there are 1 minute intervals between all the riders.

Wouldn't worry about it if I were you - it's unlikely he'll drop below 53rd so we should still see (part) of his TT

Of course it is. Steven Kruijswijk nearly won the Giro. That says all you need to know. The Giro field has become better in recent years (since 2008), but it's still nowhere near the Tour. And the Giro field in 2000-2007 was just a joke. Simoni won the Giro twice, but he was totally useless in the Tour. The same goes for Savoldelli and Garzelli. Do you honestly think any of the guys I just mentioned are on the level of Greg Van Avermaet?

Olympics is bigger than anything in cycling besides the Tour.

Giro is only watchable on a ****** channel like Eurosport as well. Definitely going to hurt the race's prestige in the long run. Can you imagine if the Olympics was only watchable on Eurosport? Lol.

Another bullet full of non-sensical gun powder. Giro and all the remaining "crappy" races better start wearing bullet-proof armour, otherwise they're gonna get killed by El Pistolero.



Anyway, I thought today was gonna be the day when a much anticipated ITT would be ridden. But to my dismay I was wrong.

TT will reveal if Froome has recovered his form. Might between Porte and Valverde though this is a week long stage race after all which is more their speciality than Froome. Froome is aiming for the Tour so no skin off his back if he doesn't win although if he does it means he is back on track.
