Very surprised to see Froome this bad. If Romandie is anything to go by, where he did a similar TT. he will find the mountains difficult. I cannot see either Valverde or Porte winning this.

Why not?
I cannot see either Valv and Porte not winning, I meant ;)

Decent performance by Aru, not great, but it's his frist race after the crash and he was still better than Birdsong. :D

Worlds best bike rider by quite a margin at the moment, Alejandro Valverde Belmonte.

I want to disagree, but what proof do I have, been waiting to find his significant weakness all year long, and nothing. This guy doesn't fail.

Porte and Valverde are the obvious winners today, but I also think Contador, D Martin, Yates and Aru can be happy with their performances.

Froome and Bardet are the biggest losers today.

Porte will collapse in le tour. He is in alien mode since january

very likely, but I'm afraid this year could be different.....

if you mean physical collapse, last year he was great. But the bad luck took him out (mechanical, crash to the moto bike). So if he can stay out of bad luck this time around, he'll be up there.

on the other hand, Does Froome looks like his 2014 Froome?

I don't know, he's raced around the same amount as Froome this year, with huge gaps to recuperate in between. Compared to Froome's stellar 2013 it seems to be very measured and could be done.

if he is better than birdsong, birdsong can kiss good by leadership role. (yeah, they might say co-leader.. we'll see)

2014 Froome mysteriously collapsed in the Dauphine following his crash, but up to that point he was strong.

If Froome doesn't show anything in the Dauphine this year it will be a first, and there will be question marks for the first time since 2012

Bardet was terrible and Froome has some work to do obviously. It already looks like a good Tour is on the way.

That was a pretty hard crash he took in the Dauphine. No collapse. He may not have fully recovered by the Tour either.

But that stage 2 performance in the 2014 Dauphine is one of the more ridiculous performances you'll ever see.

Buchmann also did pretty well, hr could also finish the race inside the top 10, it's one of his big goals.

If Porte can hold on to this form for another 6 weeks that will be the most alien performance of all time.

It won't, it most definitely won't.

We've seen this before, just five years ago with Sir Bradley Wiggins.
