Although QuickStep is rather professional and modern, they still do not have jerseys and bibs for training use only. They instead train with their race jerseys and bibs. Alaphilippe even trains in his World Champion kit. That‘s a bit strange, isn‘t it?

Why wouldn't he train in his WC kit? That's one of the perks of having it.

BEX an be lazy in stage races - They have no one who can win this stage from the peleton, while any GC hopes went up in flames in stage one - They should be having multiple riders every day in the break.

Haha, have a look at PCS‘s live ticker!… ;)

What is B&B doing? One man they have in the break, and three of their men are the three-man chasing group, between break and peloton.

They clearly show some motivation, today… :)

Yeah, in the past, this was possibly a good feeling, and honoured the jersey. But nowadays, a World Champion who trains tens of thousands of kms a year on public roads… Hmmm… - I guess the WC might get to the point where he is sick of the reactions of the people when they see, here comes the WC… This probably disturbs his training, doesn‘t it?

Some Astana riders started as early as ca. 2005 to only train in black anonymous kits - to not get disturbed by fans, when training… :)

That wasn't the main reason though...

But I doubt Ala would ever think about doing that, even if he wasn't WC

Just because a few people have weird and out-dated opinions, it doesn't mean the place as a whole is a bad place to be, I don't think.

No, of course it isn't. But it's hard for me to bear. I spent so much time here that it feels like I'm among friends, and then I realize, no they are not, they just share one single interest with me, and it feels like somebody's hitting me in the face, even if it shouldn't. I know it's my problem and I need to find a solution to it for myself.

Ask yourself what would you do. I know which jersey i would wear. And sleep in it.

It must hurt that they're the only French team that isn't "good" nowadays.
Great meme attack tho. Lovely stuff.

Their DS in Dauphine is Didier Rous. A hard man, since his active days as a rider. Probably this is a punishment by Rous, today, after the Vuillermoz show. He wants the stage win today.

Reminds me of German coach Dieter Koslar. He punished his riders in training: he was in the car behind his group of riders. They went uphill, he did constantly 30 kms/hr in his car. Every rider who slowed down, to less than 30 kms/hr, suddenly had the problem he had the car behind him, with Koslar as the driver - who DID NOT slow down… ;)

Accepting the (reasonable) differences is the key. All other solutions can't work.

Hmmm… :) If I would be a QS rider, or even a QS rider AND the World Champion, I would ask Lefevere if he allows me to train in Movistar jersey and bibs - just because I like the design so much… :)

Of course, I would also sleep in Movistar kit - without asking Patrick, beforehand… ;)

JV tucked behind giving the impression stomp is the least of their concerns. Yesterdays effort already paying off.

Lets see if Rogla has it in him. To purposely not stomp today and to save a bullet for tomorrow. Nerve wracking race ahead.

Fingers crossed!

I don't know about this "saving a bullet". If the opportunity is there, why not just power for 500m? If he really pays for that effort in the TT, the form surely is problematic anyway.

He won't pay for it tomorrow. A month from now a different story.

I'm sympathetic. But even among friends, unless one is living in a bubble, discussions sometimes veer into unexplored territories and someone expresses a thought you find distasteful. On the Internet even more so, thanks to our anonymity and impunity. I guess the only way to not lose sleep over it is to accept differences and focus on that common interest (within limits!... but that's what moderation is for).

B and B attacking is a case of competitiveness between French teams. It does make for exciting racing.
