Although QuickStep is rather professional and modern, they still do not have jerseys and bibs for training use only. They instead train with their race jerseys and bibs. Alaphilippe even trains in his World Champion kit. That‘s a bit strange, isn‘t it?
B&B meme attack commences
Why wouldn't he train in his WC kit? That's one of the perks of having it.
Yeah, in the past, this was possibly a good feeling, and honoured the jersey. But nowadays, a World Champion who trains tens of thousands of kms a year on public roads… Hmmm… - I guess the WC might get to the point where he is sick of the reactions of the people when they see, here comes the WC… This probably disturbs his training, doesn‘t it?
Some Astana riders started as early as ca. 2005 to only train in black anonymous kits - to not get disturbed by fans, when training…![]()
Just because a few people have weird and out-dated opinions, it doesn't mean the place as a whole is a bad place to be, I don't think.

It must hurt that they're the only French team that isn't "good" nowadays.
Great meme attack tho. Lovely stuff.
No, of course it isn't. But it's hard for me to bear. I spent so much time here that it feels like I'm among friends, and then I realize, no they are not, they just share one single interest with me, and it feels like somebody's hitting me in the face, even if it shouldn't. I know it's my problem and I need to find a solution to it for myself.
Ask yourself what would you do. I know which jersey i would wear. And sleep in it.
Lets see if Rogla has it in him. To purposely not stomp today and to save a bullet for tomorrow. Nerve wracking race ahead.
Fingers crossed!
I don't know about this "saving a bullet". If the opportunity is there, why not just power for 500m? If he really pays for that effort in the TT, the form surely is problematic anyway.
I'm sympathetic. But even among friends, unless one is living in a bubble, discussions sometimes veer into unexplored territories and someone expresses a thought you find distasteful. On the Internet even more so, thanks to our anonymity and impunity. I guess the only way to not lose sleep over it is to accept differences and focus on that common interest (within limits!... but that's what moderation is for). No, of course it isn't. Do you have his injury in mind, that might be re-triggered by a high effort? In the usual training regime I can't really see 1 sprint make a difference a month from now.He won't pay for it tomorrow. A month from now a different story.
